  5. VARNET's Production Activity Control forms the second module in VARNET's
  6. manufacturing series. This module works with Inventory Management and bill of
  7. Materials to track activities from the issue of work orders through their
  8. completion. It encompasses shop floor control, job costing and labor
  9. performance functions. Work orders are created through the standards
  10. established in Bill of Materials, and printed to the shop floor. time cards are
  11. posted to record job completion through staged production gates, to establish
  12. labor costs and to plan capacity requirements. Material usage relieves
  13. inventory, establishes costs, and generates variances using either forward or
  14. backward scheduling. Integrated with VARNET's MRPII, BOM & Job Shop modules for
  15. a fully-integrated manufacturing environment.
