  2. PowerButtons has been designed to be as simple as possible to use, taking
  3. maximum advantage of the power of the Visual Basic Language.

  6. Launching Applications
  7. ------------------------------------

  9. To launch an application defined in the main PowerButtons bar, simply click the
  10. desired icon or label TWICE with the left mouse button.  Clicking ONCE simply
  11. highlights the button (as per Program Manager conventions).

  15. Buttons Setup
  16. ----------------------

  18. To access the Setup Window, click on the left-most small control button at the
  19. top of the PowerButtons bar (the one with the hammer and screwdriver on it.)
  20.  
  21. This will display the Setup Window, from which you can define a "library" of
  22. 21 buttons.

  24.    Changing Button Settings
  25.    ----------------------------------------
  26.    Click ONCE on any of the 21 buttons in the library to display the settings
  27.    for that button.

  29.    Use the various tools provided within the settings area to select the .EXE
  30.    file, startup directory, title, options and the icon.

  32.    (At the moment, this version of PB only supports .ICO files)

  34.    You can also specify how the application program window wil be displayed
  35.    by selecting either normal (default mode), minimized or maximized.

  37.    Assigning Library Buttons to the PowerButtons Bar
  38.    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  39.    DOUBLE-CLICK on a button in the library, and a message will be displayed,
  40.    requesting that you click ONCE on the destination button on the PB Bar.

  42.    Performing this operation will cause the PB Bar button displayed to change,
  43.    but no changes will be effected unitl you click on the SAVE button.

  47. Other PB Functions

  51.    Reminders
  52.    -----------------
  53.    The third control button on the top of the PowerButtons Bar is used to
  54.    activate the Reminders window (which I thought would be handy to have)

  56.    You can freely edit the contents of this window with TO-DO lists, notes
  57.    to yourself etc.

  59.    To make this window display each time you start PB, check the box shown.

  62.    The About Window

  64.    Sorry about the "big" About window, but I'm trying to get as much feedback
  65.    regarding Powerbuttons as possible. This will ensure that the final version
  66.    will have all the features that you, the users, will need.

  80. this), then the final version will be released, which will include:

  83.    *  Error handling (this version has NONE, so expect the unexpected!)
  84.    *  Enhanced Reminders functionality
  85.    *  Better Icon support (eg, read Icons from .EXE files etc.)
  86.    *  Auto re-size depending on VGA resolution used (support 1024*768)
  87.    *  Faster execution
  88.    *  Icon Editor (if the demand is shown for it)
  89.    *  plus the features requested by the beta testers out there!
