- PowerButtons has been designed to be as simple as possible to use, taking
- maximum advantage of the power of the Visual Basic Language.
-
-
- Launching Applications
- ------------------------------------
-
- To launch an application defined in the main PowerButtons bar, simply click the
- desired icon or label TWICE with the left mouse button. Clicking ONCE simply
- highlights the button (as per Program Manager conventions).
-
-
-
- Buttons Setup
- ----------------------
-
- To access the Setup Window, click on the left-most small control button at the
- top of the PowerButtons bar (the one with the hammer and screwdriver on it.)
-
- This will display the Setup Window, from which you can define a "library" of
- 21 buttons.
-
- Changing Button Settings
- ----------------------------------------
- Click ONCE on any of the 21 buttons in the library to display the settings
- for that button.
-
- Use the various tools provided within the settings area to select the .EXE
- file, startup directory, title, options and the icon.
-
- (At the moment, this version of PB only supports .ICO files)
-
- You can also specify how the application program window wil be displayed
- by selecting either normal (default mode), minimized or maximized.
-
- Assigning Library Buttons to the PowerButtons Bar
- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- DOUBLE-CLICK on a button in the library, and a message will be displayed,
- requesting that you click ONCE on the destination button on the PB Bar.
-
- Performing this operation will cause the PB Bar button displayed to change,
- but no changes will be effected unitl you click on the SAVE button.
-
-
-
- Other PB Functions
- -------------------------------
-
-
- Reminders
- -----------------
- The third control button on the top of the PowerButtons Bar is used to
- activate the Reminders window (which I thought would be handy to have)
-
- You can freely edit the contents of this window with TO-DO lists, notes
- to yourself etc.
-
- To make this window display each time you start PB, check the box shown.
-
-
- The About Window
- -------------------------------
- Sorry about the "big" About window, but I'm trying to get as much feedback
- regarding Powerbuttons as possible. This will ensure that the final version
- will have all the features that you, the users, will need.
-
- Please feel free to give PB to all your friends, and if you have any hints,
- comments or suggestions, please send me some mail on Compuserve 100033,1415
-
-
- The final version of PowerButtons will be ShareWare, and will be posted on
- the Visual Basic Forum of Compuserve in the near future.
-
-
- Final Release
- ---------------------
-
- When PB has had enough beta test hours under its belt (and you can help with
- this), then the final version will be released, which will include:
-
- * Standard Windows 3.0 help
- * Error handling (this version has NONE, so expect the unexpected!)
- * Enhanced Reminders functionality
- * Better Icon support (eg, read Icons from .EXE files etc.)
- * Auto re-size depending on VGA resolution used (support 1024*768)
- * Faster execution
- * Icon Editor (if the demand is shown for it)
- * plus the features requested by the beta testers out there!
-
-
- Enjoy!

-
- I hope PB will enhance your Windows productivty, I know it has for me.
