  14.  Helps Programmers Manage Projects in Microsoft Visual Basic for Windows

  16. New York, NY -- January 1, 1993 -- The Young Software Works, Inc. today
  17. announced the release of an update to its VB Project Archiver[TM] (VBPA[TM])
  18. utility for the Microsoft[R] Visual Basic[TM] programming system version 2.0
  19. for Windows. The new release is fully compatible with this new version of
  20. Visual Basic and includes improvements in performance, error recovery,
  21. ease-of-use and archiving features. The original release of VB Project
  22. Archiver in December of 1991 was the first available project-management
  23. utility for Visual Basic programmers. Combining archiving, version-control
  24. and application distribution features, VB Project Archiver protects the
  25. programmers from damage, loss, or unintended changes to Visual Basic
  26. projects as a result of the normal software development process.

  28. VB Project Archiver places all of the code and form modules used by a Visual
  29. Basic project into a compressed project archive file with no assistance
  30. required by the developer. Any Windows Dynamic-Link Libraries (DLLs) and
  31. Visual Basic Custom Controls (VBXs) used by the project are automatically
  32. included in the project archive if desired. VB Project Archiver doesn't
  33. delete previous archives to provide the necessary version-control features
  34. required by developers. When distributing an application written in Visual
  35. Basic to others, VB Project Archiver will create a project archive
  36. containing the EXE, any DLLs used, automatically replacing the design-time
  37. custom controls with the run-time versions, and making sure that the EXE is
  38. a recent version, preventing the distribution of outdated code.
