- VB ICON BROWSER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS / FROM BBS .ZIP FILE
-
-
-
- VB Icon Browser was written in Visual Basic and requires the VBRUN100.DLL
- file to be present in your Windows directory or in the same directory as
- VB Icon Browser. To conserve download time, the VBRUN100.DLL file is NOT
- in the VB Icon Browser .ZIP file. If you do not have the VBRUN100.DLL
- file, you will need to get a copy of it from the BBS you downloaded the
- VB Icon Browser .ZIP file or other source. Complaints about the
- requirement of the VBRUNN100.DLL file should be directed at Microsoft.
-
- We recommend having an "ICONS" directory and making a seperate "ICONBROW"
- directory for VB Icon Browser branching out from your "WINDOWS" directory,
- then placing all of the files in the .ZIP in the "ICONBROW" directory.
-
- example installation of files: (BE IN DOS)
-
- c:
- cd \windows
- md icons
- cd icons
- md iconbrow
- cd iconbrow
- (copy the VB Icon Browser .ZIP file to this directory)
- unzip iconb*.zip -o (have UNZIP.EXE or compatible program in your path)
-
- After unzipping the VB Icon Browser files and having the VBRUN100.DLL
- file in your Windows directory, you can install VB Icon Browser on your
- Windows desktop by selecting "File", then "New", then click on the "OK"
- button, then enter "VB Icon Browser" in the "Description" field, then
- enter the full path and name of the VB Icon Browser executable program
- in the "Command Line" field, then click on the "OK" button.
-
- example installation of program: (BE IN WINDOWS PROGRAM MANAGER)
-
- click the File menu
- click New...
- click OK
- type in VB Icon Browser in the Description field
- type in c:\windows\icons\iconbrow\iconbrow.exe in the Command Line field
- (substitute the directory you installed VB Icon Browser in if different)
- click OK
-
- Of course, you might want to put VB Icon Browser in a different window
- group, but the above information should help you if you are new to
- Windows.
-
- NOTE: VB Icon Browser and other Visual Basic programs require Windows 3.0
- or later in standard or enhanced mode. Do NOT run VB Icon Browser
- with Windows in real mode.
