- I enjoy making Pegasus Mail available to the NetWare community - I
- get great satisfaction from knowing that people like it. I also
- believe strongly in keeping it free (if only to prove that you CAN
- get something for nothing!) I have no intention of changing this.
-
- I do, however, have a serious problem, and I am hoping that you, the
- users, will possibly want to help me out: my computer is dying and
- getting old (all at the same time) - it now takes almost 15 minutes to
- compile Pegasus Mail, and on several occasions, the machine has died
- with motherboard parity errors (fortunately nothing has been lost
- except some time and some patience).
-
- I really NEED some fast new equipment if I am to be able to continue
- developing software I can make available for general use: while I am
- conscious that no-one ever asked me to do this, I am hoping that
- some of you may feel that what I do is useful enough to warrant a
- donation to help me out.
-
- To further this, I am now offering a registration service for Pmail:
- if you register your copy for US$100 or more, I will send you a
- diskette containing the next release of Pmail with a printed manual
- (when it is released of course!). To register, please send your
- cheque or money order to the address below: a proper invoice WILL be
- issued for all registrations. A Registration form is supplied in the
- distribution as REGISTER.DOC.
-
- Registration is OPTIONAL: if you don't feel that Pegasus Mail is
- worth supporting, if you're poor, or if you just can't be bothered,
- well, that's all right too, but the future development of Pegasus
- Mail now largely depends on support from its users.
-
- Alternatively, if you know anyone in a big hardware firm (preferably
- IBM or Apple) who might be interested in providing hardware in
- exchange for recognition, please point them at me, or vice-versa.
-
- I hope you can help - any encouragement would be gratefully received.
-
- Please contact: David Harris, (Internet: david@otago.ac.nz)
- P.O. Box 5451, ( or david@elrond.otago.ac.nz)
- Dunedin,
- New Zealand.
-
- (Note that no postal codes are required - New Zealand only has three
- million people, so we're fairly easily found!).
-
- My home phone number is: (ISD 64) 3-453-6880, and New Zealand is
- GMT+1200. You may well encounter an answering machine: if you do,
- please wait the message out, then briefly state who you are - I
- tend to use the machine as a way of filtering interruptions, and
- may well be listening. Once I know who you are, I will answer. I
- am in most evenings except Tuesday.
-
- Thank you for your support,
-
