- NCP Service Protocol

- A service protocol is the language spoken between a
- server and a workstation. For example, NetWare servers
- and NetWare workstation shells and requesters speak a
- service protocol called the NetWare Core Protocol (NCP).
- The functions that comprise the NetWare Core Protocol are
- also called the NCPs.
- Although the first release of NetWare 386 supports one
- service protocol language, the NetWare Core Protocol,
- future versions will support other service protocols such
- as the one provided by Apple. NetWare 386 supports most
- NetWare v2.15 NCPs and the new NCPs listed in the
- following table:
