  5.   This Readme File contains the information for users to use Acer 5220A
  6. 16-bit Ethernet card on NetWare 386 V3.X product series.  It contains
  7. the following files:

  15. The file "ACERENET.LAN" is a LAN driver  for the Acer 5220A 16-bit Ethernet
  16. card. It appears either on the system diskette or  on the DOS partition  of
  17. the server hard disk.

  19. 2. NetWare Setup Steps
  20.  
  21.    a. Configuring the LAN Adapter
  22.  
  23.       Follow the steps and, if necessary, refer to Acer 5220A
  24.       Ethernet Card User's Manual Chapter 3 for easy installation.
  25.  
  26.       1. Verify the SW1 setting for I/O and memory base address
  27.          configuration.
  28.       2. If the memory space is used, set jumper group 1 (JP10 and JP28)
  29.          to the proper configuration.
  30.       3. Set the jumper plug to the proper jumper position on the
  31.          interrupt channel configuration block JP17 - JP27
  32.       4. Check the network interface used in the network system If thick
  33.          Ethernet is used, close all group 2 jumpers JP2 - JP9 i E position.
  34.          If thin Ethernet is used, close all group 2 jumpers in C position.

  36.    b. Installing the driver files for the card
  37.  
  38.       Follow the 386 NetWare  installation  procedure  until  you  reach
  39.       the ":" server console prompt.  Enter  commands  listed  below  at
  40.       the  prompt  to install LAN driver into your server:
  41.  
  42.              LOAD d:ACERENET.LAN  <CR>
  43.              BIND IPX TO ACERENET <CR>
  44.  
  45.       The drive letter d: is the physical location where "ACERENET.LAN" is
  46.       placed. You will be prompted to select the proper LAN card configuration
  47.       after the program is loaded.
