- This Readme File contains the information for users to use Acer 5220A
- 16-bit Ethernet card on NetWare 386 V3.X product series. It contains
- the following files:

- The file "ACERENET.LAN" is a LAN driver for the Acer 5220A 16-bit Ethernet
- card. It appears either on the system diskette or on the DOS partition of
- the server hard disk.

- 2. NetWare Setup Steps
-
- a. Configuring the LAN Adapter
-
- Follow the steps and, if necessary, refer to Acer 5220A
- Ethernet Card User's Manual Chapter 3 for easy installation.
-
- 1. Verify the SW1 setting for I/O and memory base address
- configuration.
- 2. If the memory space is used, set jumper group 1 (JP10 and JP28)
- to the proper configuration.
- 3. Set the jumper plug to the proper jumper position on the
- interrupt channel configuration block JP17 - JP27
- 4. Check the network interface used in the network system If thick
- Ethernet is used, close all group 2 jumpers JP2 - JP9 i E position.
- If thin Ethernet is used, close all group 2 jumpers in C position.

- b. Installing the driver files for the card
-
- Follow the 386 NetWare installation procedure until you reach
- the ":" server console prompt. Enter commands listed below at
- the prompt to install LAN driver into your server:

- LOAD d:ACERENET.LAN <CR>
- BIND IPX TO ACERENET <CR>
-
- The drive letter d: is the physical location where "ACERENET.LAN" is
- placed. You will be prompted to select the proper LAN card configuration
- after the program is loaded.
