- General Instructions
- --------------------
- When g-TRAF is installed and run for the first time, there will be
- short delay while the database files are indexed. This activity will
- be displayed on the screen after the opening logo.
-
- The sample databases may be erased in order to track your programming
- and trafficing information as follows:
-
- 1. At the D:/G-TRAF> prompt, type DEL *.DBF
- 2. At the D:/G-TRAF> prompt, type DEL *.NTX
-
- Now when g-TRAF is first run, you will be prompted to continue with
- new database file installation. If you continue, new (empty) databases
- will be created before the opening logo is displayed.
-
- The g-TRAF demo version is fully-functional except for certain client
- billing features. The number of client order entries, however, has
- been limited to 100.

- GENERAL OPERATING GUIDELINES
-
- All g-TRAF menus are scrolled using the keyboard cursor keys. As a
- menu is scrolled, the current choice is highlighted. You select a menu
- choice by pressing the [Enter] key when the desired choice is
- highlighted. Alternately, you may press the first letter in the name
- of a choice to select that choice.
-
- Most g-TRAF data entries are error-checked. If an unacceptable entry
- is attempted, an ERROR message is displayed in the upper right-hand
- corner of the screen. g-TRAF will not allow you to continue additional
- entry until the invalid entry has been corrected.
-
- The [Esc] key is used throughout g-TRAF to escape (exit) from or abort
- (quit) any g-TRAF activity. Normally, pressing [Esc] returns g-TRAF to
- the previous (calling) menu. Pressing [Esc] during user ID entry
- terminates the g-TRAF program by returning to the DOS prompt.
- Printouts and data dumps can also be aborted by pressing the [Esc]
- key.
-
- Throughout most g-TRAF activities, on-line user-help is available by
- pressing the [F1] key. For example, during client order entry,
- pressing [F1] at the client code entry prompt results in a lookup
- table of client codes and names being displayed on the screen in a
- special help window. The client codes can then be scrolled and the
- actual client code desired can be chosen by pressing the [Enter] key
- when that selection is highlighted.
-
- A printer must be connected and on-line in order to print listings and
- reports. g-TRAF will display an error message if a printout is
- attempted when the printer is not ready.
-
- Maintenance codes should be entered before attempting to enter client
- orders or prorgam schedules. g-TRAF uses the maintenance code files
- (client code, ad type code, product code, etc.) in order to validate
- entries made in other g-TRAF activities.
-
- The access password in the g-TRAF demo version is GO. This may be
- subsequently changed from the operations menu.
