  1. The following files are provided in this archive.  These files are user s 
  2. supported and are distributed to registered users of ARC by System 
  3. Enhancement Associates on the official distribution diskette.  The file
  4. entitled "READ  .ME" gives a complete listing of files on the official
  5. distribution diskette.
  6.  
  7. ARCE.COM      This is a fast archive extraction program.  It functions the
  8.               same as the ARC E command but much faster.
  9. ASCII.EXE     This searches through a file, finding and displaying any 
  10.               printable text.  It can be used on any file, including
  11.               programs, database files, and worksheets.
  12. CHMOD.COM     This is used to selectively set and reset file attributes, 
  13.               such as ReadOnly, Hidden, and System.
  14. MARC.EXE      This is used to merge archives without unpacking and 
  15.               repacking their contents.  See the ARC manual for more
  16.               details.
  17. OKI.EXE       This is handy if you happen to have an Okidata printer. 
  18. SCROLOCK.COM  This makes your "Scroll Lock" key do what its name implies; 
  19.               that is, stop the screen from scrolling.
  20. TDIR.EXE      This produces a short, organized listing of the files in your
  21.               current directory, or in another directory.  Use it as you
  22.               would the MS-DOS "dir" command.
  23. UNBACKED.EXE  This finds all files which are not backed up in your current 
  24.               directory and all of its subdirectories.

  26. Most of these programs give a brief description of how they work when you 
  27. run them with no arguments.

  31. I am a registered user of ARC and feel the cost was more than worth it.

  33. All of us who up- and download "ARC'd" files on bbs's should take a second
  34. to reflect on how much SEA's ARC program saves us in time, storage space, and
  35. long distance connect charges.  If you are even a moderate user, you will
  36. realize that the very modest registration fee is offset in a very short time.

  39. all of us in the "BBS community." (I am not an employee of, nor am I connected with SEA in any way other than as
  40. a very satisfied user).
