- Files you should have:
-
- SIMTERM.EXE - The terminal program
- SIMTERM.DOC - The operations manual
- REGISTER.DOC - The registration form
- HISTORY.DOC - Revision history
- README.DOC - This file
-
- Although Simterm is relatively easy to use, it is advisable to read the
- documentation before starting. If you are experienced with telecommunications,
- you could just read the Installation and Configuring Simterm sections in the
- Getting Started chapter of the manual.
-
- If you've been using a 1.x version of Simterm, your old .CFG and .PHN files
- are not compatible with this version. Simterm will see that they are not
- correct and will overwrite them with new 2.0 copies. Sorry about that but
- the increased capabilities of Simterm 2.0 made it impossible to keep the
- file formats the same.
-
- If you have a printer and wish to make a hard copy of the manual, you can copy
- the SIMTERM.DOC file to your printer. From the DOS prompt you would type:
-
- COPY SIMTERM.DOC PRN
-
- followed by pressing the ENTER key.
-
- The manual is formatted for 80 columns and 66 lines per page. It has an eight
- character margin on the left so it can be punched and put into a folder without
- obscuring any of the text.
