  9.                              INTRODUCTION

  11. Bong is a ShareWare animation player/screensaver for Windows.  Bong 
  12. uses script files to display FLC and FLI animation, and DIB, RLE, 
  13. and BMP image files.  FLI and FLC animations are widely available on 
  14. local BBS's, the Internet, Compuserve, and other online services.

  16.                             NEW USER HINTS
  17.  
  18. Bong comes with a default script, BONG.AAS.  This script can 
  19. be used without modification.  It can also be edited with Bong to 
  20. cut and paste animations and images. You can also change the duration, 
  21. add transition fades, and more.  The ability to create custom scripts 
  22. is easily learned, and is well worth the short time you will spend to 
  23. master it.  The best way to learn how to use the script editor is to 
  24. fool around with it for a few minutes.  Try double-clicking on the [..] 
  25. symbol in the directories listbox of the script editor to navigate 
  26. around on your hard drive.  Play with the buttons.  With a little 
  27. experimentation, you should be able to add MID and WAV sound files to 
  28. your scripts, provided you have a sound card that supports general 
  29. midi (most do).  If you have a CD-ROM drive, you can also play CD audio 
  30. from a script.   There are two additional script files MIDI.AAS and 
  31. CDAUDIO.AAS to help get you started.  They require the Windows MCI 
  32. sequencer and MCI CD audio drivers to be installed.  MIDI.AAS expects 
  33. the file C:\WINDOWS\CANYON.MID to be on your hard drive.  CDAUDIO.AAS 
  34. expects to find an audio CD in the CD-ROM drive.  If you need more 
  35. help, try asking around on the ASOFT forum on Compuserve.  If there 
  36. is enough interest, We'll try to add online help in future versions of 
  37. Bong.
