  1. 1. You need a computer
  2. Today's new computers are all fast 
  3. enough for the Internet. If, however, 
  4. your PC is a little older, make sure 
  5. it's at least a 486 or a Pentium, with 
  6. an absolute minimum of 16 MB RAM 
  7. (we recommend 32 MB), or it will be 
  8. too slow.

  10. If you have an Apple Macintosh, you 
  11. will need at least a 68030 processor, 
  12. 16 MB RAM and 40 MB hard drive 
  13. space.

  15. 2. You need to install a browser
  16. This CD includes Microsoft's Internet 
  17. Explorer, an Internet browser 
  18. program. And remember, we're only 
  19. a phone call away if you need any 
  20. help.

  22. 3. You need a modem ... 
  23. A modem is a device that connects 
  24. your computer to a telephone line 
  25. and converts computer signals into 
  26. phone signals and vice versa.

  28. 4. ... and a telephone line
  29. With the help of the modem, your 
  30. telephone line connects you to your 
  31. Internet Service Provider. We 
  32. recommend any Telkom-approved 
  33. modem which operates at 28.8 
  34. kilobits per second or faster.

  36. 5. You need an Internet Service 
  37.     Provider
  38. An Internet Service Provider, such 
  39. as M-Web, is your gateway to the 
  40. Internet. When you install the M-
  41. Web software, you'll go through an 
  42. online registration process that will 
  43. give you automatic access to M-
  44. Web. Here, you will be asked to 
  45. supply your personal and bank 
  46. details. On successful registration, 
  47. you'll be issued with an e-mail 
  48. address, an M-Web User ID and 
  49. password which you will need each 
  50. time you connect to the Internet.
