  25. GENERAL NOTICES ABOUT INSTALLING OR UPDATING X-SETUP

  27.  - Xteq X-Setup does not interference with any other 
  28.    system utility nor does it change any configuration
  29.    by just installing it (except adding some harmless 
  30.    empty lines to MSDOS.SYS on W9x/ME machines which
  31.    the OS just ignores). Therefore, you can always 
  32.    install it and give it a try.

  34.  - Xteq X-Setup is 100% freeware which means: it 
  35.    *IS NOT* ad-based or spyware-enabled! Your privacy 
  36.    *IS NOT* at risk by using Xteq X-Setup!
  37.  
  38.  - In some very rare cases, Anti-Virus software can 
  39.    cause X-Setup to crash (GPFing). In this case, 
  40.    please disable your Anti-Virus software before 
  41.    starting SETUP.EXE or using X-Setup.

  44. INSTALLING XTEQ X-SETUP
  45.  
  46.  To install Xteq X-Setup, extract all files from the 
  47.  archive to a directory and start SETUP.EXE. After 
  48.  Setup has finished, this directory can be deleted.

  51. UPDATING XTEQ X-SETUP
  52.  
  53.  If you already have Xteq X-Setup installed, you can
  54.  install this new version into the same path as the 
  55.  previous version.
  56.  
  57.  However, after you have started X-Setup for the first
  58.  time, please go to File -> Options -> Misc and click
  59.  the "Reset Configuration" button to make sure all 
  60.  options are validated. This action only needs to be
  61.  made once.

  64. UNINSTALLING XTEQ X-SETUP

  66.  To remove Xteq X-Setup, use Start -> Settings ->
  67.  Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.

  69.  Please note that uninstalling X-Setup *DOES NOT* 
  70.  revert any changes you have made using X-Setup!

  73. REQUIRED COMPONENTS
  74.  
  75.  Xteq X-Setup requires the Microsoft Scripting Engine 
  76.  (MSE) to work properly - this component is included 
  77.  by default in Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows ME.

  82.  Beside this, HTML Help is needed as X-Setup does use
  83.  a CHM file for its help system - HTML Help is included
  84.  in Internet Explorer 3.0 or above.

  90.  components before it starts and displays an error 
  91.  message if they are missing.
