INSTRUCTIONS
"Step right up! Come one, come all! Bring $50 and play a card game which
could increase your winnings substantially! Starring your Zaurus as
the card dealer!"
That's right, a Las Vegas style card game called RedDog. On startup,
you are given $50. You can wager money in $5 increments. After the
bet has been made, the dealer (ie. Zaurus 35**/5***) will deal two cards
face up. Your job, as the player, is to determine whether the third card
will be between the first two cards (ie. numerically). The card order is:
Ace King Queen Jack 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2
For example:
The King is between the Ace and 10.
The 8 is between the King and 3.
The 9 is NOT between the 9 and 8.
The Ace is NOT between the 2 and King
If the two cards are adjacent are adjacent, it is a tie. If the two cards are not
identical, the player is allowed to place a "raise" bet, up to the size of the
original bet. If the third card drawn is _between_ the first two cards, the
player wins. If the first two cards are identical, the player is not allowed to
raise, and if the third card matches the first two, the player is paid 11:1.
Payoffs are at even money unless the first two cards are a pair or the "spread"
is 3 or less.
Spread Payoff
----------------------------------
pair 11:1 (w/ matching 3rd card)
pair push (w/ non-matching 3rd card)
0 (adjacent) push
1 5:1
2 4:1
3 2:1
4 - 11 1:1
For you card sharks (ie. card counters), Zaurus is equipped with
an infinite deck of cards. So your silly counting systems don't apply
here! :^)
