<H4>More about Dialing Locations</H4>
<UL>
<LI>Before dialing, be sure that your HPC has a correctly configured Dialing
Location, and that <B>b<I>FAX</I></B>Ö is set to use that location.
</LI>
<LI>Dialing Locations control whether area codes are dialed. The default
location, "Home," is normally based on information you enter
when you first use your HPC. If the area code of the Recipient matches the area
code of your Dialing Location, the area code will not normally be dialed.
To dial the area code anyway, mark "Dial Area Code" on the Dialing
Preferences tab. </LI>
<LI> Dialing Locations control how international calls are dialed. International calls from the U.S. are dialed with the "011" access code automatically, so you do not need to enter those digits as part of the phone number if you are using either Home or Work default Dialing Locations. </LI>
<LI> Dialing Locations control special prefixes that may need to be dialed before the actual phone number. The default Work Dialing Location, for example, dials a "9" to access an outside line.</LI>
<LI>Dialing Locations are <B>selected</B> within <B>b<I>FAX</I></B>Ö, but
they must be <B>configured</B> in Control Panel on your HPC. To add a new dialing location or change the settings for an existing one, from Start choose Settings,
then open "Communications Properties" and choose the Dialing
tab.</LI>
<LI>Select "Don't Use Dialing Locations" on the Dialing Preferences
tab if you prefer to dial phone numbers exactly as they appear in the
Recipient list window. (This could be useful for dialing from a location
for which no Dialing Location is configured.) In this case any
country code or area code will be dialed exactly as it is shown in the Recipient list view. </LI>
