  26. UTILS3a is a file manager for the Series3a.  It allows up to six windows,
  27. between which you can copy files.  You can also delete, rename (and move),
  28. set the attributes, create directories, and remove directories.
  29.  
  30. You can also launch a file with an application based on its extension.
  31.  
  32. You can move and size the windows, sort DBF files, insert fields, and
  33. and Hex Editor is also included.

  38.         Copy UTILS3A.APP into the \APP\ directory.
  39.         
  40.         Copy EXTRA21.OVL, HEXEDIT.OVL, and DBFMAN.OVL into the \APP\UTILS3A\
  41.                 directory.

  43.         For English, copy ASSOC01.INI and UTILS01.RES into the \APP\UTILS3A\
  44.                 directory.

  46.         For German, copy ASSOC03.INI and UTILS03.RES into the \APP\UTILS3A\

  51. VERSION 2.3
  52.         This version fixes the two major problems from version 2.2, and
  53.         addresses some of the other issues which had been requested.
  54.  
  55. Fixes:  The three option now works properly.
  56.         The program will now correctly install on a new machine.
  57.         The directory sort algorithm has been completely re-written,
  58.         so this is now much quicker.
  59.         When refreshing the screen after a sort, the cursor is now
  60.         turned off.
  61.         When 'Change Drive' is selected, and ESC is then pressed, the
  62.         drive is no longer re-scanned.  When selecting a drive, the
  63.         sort option is no longer reset.
  64.         'Copy' and 'Move' no longer show the ' - Not available - ' options.
  65.         Both options in the DBF utilities display Status Bars whilst they
  66.         are working.
  67.         File search: the default is "All Local Drives", unless on a remote
  68.         drive.  The search on the current drive can be stopped with Escape.
  69.         Sub-directories with extensions can now be used.
  70.         Files without extensions are now renamed properly.
  71.         The default settings for the associate option have been fixed

  74.         Support has now been added for Macintosh Drives, although files
  75.         on a Macintosh Drive cannot be renamed by the Series3a, and the
  76.         accents on European Macintoshes are not properly converted.

  80.         This version basically the same as version 2.1, except that the
  81.         name has been changed to avoid confusion with a similar named
  82.         product.

  84. Fixes:  No fixes have taken place.  Any necessary fixes will occur in a
  85.         future release.

  88.         Developers can now add their own functions to the program.  This
  89.         is described in a separate document.

  93. Fixes:  The Hex Editor no longer reports 'String too long' if the address
  94.         is more than four characters.
  95.         The DBF Sort now displays 'Busy' when it is working.
  96.         Files without extensions now work correctly.
  97.         When copying or moving, the default directory to copy/move to
  98.         is NOT the same as the current directory, unless only one window
  99.         is open.
  100.         The Tree option is no longer limited to 200 directories.
  101.         A trap has been added to stop the memory filling up with the
  102.         file lists.
  103.         Parts of the documentation for 2.0 read version 1.2, this has
  104.         been fixed.

  107.         Remove Directory now deletes the files within the directory, and
  108.         recursively deletes the sub-directories under it.
  109.         A disk information option has been added.
  110.         Tagging files can now be done using SHIFT-UP and SHIFT-DOWN.
  111.         Directories can now be tagged, copied, and moved.
  112.         A drive selector has been added.
  113.         A file search option has been added.

  115.         Disk Information shows "Percentage of files backed up".  This is only
  116.         reliable if backups are made using the "Backup" option in the System
  117.         menu, the -M flag with COPY in MCLINK, or any other method that
  118.         backs up using the Archive flag.

  122. Fixes:
  123.         The 'Menu' key is now active even if CAPS LOCK is on.
  124.         The program does not hang if you close an empty window.
  125.         If a directory does not exist, the window is automatically closed.
  126.         The DBF and HEX sub-routines are now 'Locked' to the System.
  127.         PC Volume names are no longer displayed as files.
  128.         All directory names are now converted into upper case.
  129.         There is a new icon.  Please re-install Tools3a in your system screen.
  130.         The program does not allow ALL the windows to be closed.
  131.         Error Handling has been improved in Hex and DBF tools.
  132.         Setting the attributes for ".." is no longer possible.

  135.         A 'refresh' option has been added.
  136.         A 'move' option has been added.
  137.         Files tagging is now supported for copy, move, and delete.
  138.         You may now change the directory displayed in a window by pressing
  139.         PSION-TAB.  This also means that you can change drives.
