  1. Chess V2.0 released!
  2.  
  3. I just released a brand new updated and completely revised version
  4. of my Chess program, which is now Siena complient.
  5. This version contains a number of enhancements, corrected bugs and
  6. suggestions that users mailed to me, like:
  7.  
  8. - enhancements to the Chess algorithm engine (C source)
  9. - you can install Chess into any drive on your system
  10. - you can now save/load your Chess game to/from
  11.   any file (not restricted to chess.gam)
  12. - you can now choose between 2 different chess pieces:
  13.   a modern design version (like in V1.2)
  14.   and a classic version.
  15. - remove of flashing 'your turn' message
  16. - optional beep when Psion has choosen its move  
  17. - optional flashing 'thinking' message
  18. - optional view of yours and Psions last move
  19. - optional view of yours and Psions total thinking time
  20. - adjustments to the display for Siena users
  21. - random pick of opening moves
  22. - you can add your own opening moves to the database
  23. - message if game is draw
  24.  
  25. Other Features of Chess:
  26.  
  27. - 3 different game levels: novice, normal and expert
  28. - Psion 3a, 3c and Siena complient
  29. - a database with 77 great chess openings (registered users only)
  30. - allows to save a played game for later replay
  31. - the thinking part of the program is using a fast min/max algorithm
  32.   developed in C on the PC using Microsoft Visual C++
  33. - extremely compact binary assembler code (about 25k!)
  34. - you can continue with other applications
  35.   while Psion thinks about his move.

  42. version (V1.2) of Chess as long as you respect the copyright.

  44. with all the enhancements mentioned above which includes a chess
  45. openings book containing 77 great openings.
