  5. Diamonds is a scrolling platform game for the
  6. Psion Series 3a/c machines. The player has to
  7. jump around each level collecting diamonds
  8. and avoiding spikes and blades. There is also
  9. a strategy element to the game. At the start
  10. of each level you get some extra blocks and
  11. and remove blocks. These are used to reach
  12. inaccessible areas of the playfield. Use them
  13. in the wrong places and you could run out
  14. making the level impossible to complete!
  15. The game requires around 100k free RAM 
  16. to run.

  19.                Installing
  20.  
  21. In the App directory on any drive, make a
  22. sub-directory called diamonds. Copy the
  23. following files into it..
  24.  
  25. Dead.wve
  26. Pop.wve
  27. Quake.wve
  28. Yeah.wve
  29. Diamond.pic
  30.  
  31. Copy the file Diamonds.opa directly into the
  32. App directory. Then install the game from the
  33. main menu using Apps/Install.
  34.  
  35. The files ending in .wve are optional and can
  36. be left out if sounds are not wanted.

  39.                  Playing.
  40.  
  41. Run the game and the intro screen will appear.
  42. Most of the choices are obvious. Continue game
  43. carries on from the last level played. Select level
  44. lets you play any level already completed.
  45.  
  46. Press the help key for quick instructions or 
  47. read on!
  48.  
  49. Select New Game and the game starts!
  50. There are three modes to the gameplay selected
  51. as follows..
  52.  
  53. Play Mode (default mode)
  54.  
  55.  Use the z and x keys to move left and right
  56.  Use the enter key to jump
  57.  The TAB key displays or removes the info window
  58.  The q key selects a quit/restart/exit dialog
  59.  Esc quits the above dialog.

  61. Edit Mode
  62.  
  63. Pressing the Psion key enters this mode. 
  64. Use z and x to select a block to alter. Then 
  65. enter to make the change or esc to return to
  66. play mode. You can edit any block except the
  67. borders or one containing a diamond.

  69. View mode
  70.  
  71. Press and hold the diamond key to enter this
  72. mode. Then use the cursor keys to scroll around
  73. the playfield. This mode is used for planning
  74. how you can solve each level! Simply release
  75. the diamond key to return to play mode.

  79.  The menu key is'nt used in the game proper
  80. as the game uses the Psion key for edit mode.
  81. For maximum game speed, close all other apps
  82. while running diamonds. You don't have to do
  83. this but it can make a slight difference. A small
  84. file is also created in the OPD directory when the
  85. game is first run.

  93.                 Registration

  95. Diamonds is shareware. The game took many
  96. hours to write so please register if you like it!
  97. By registering you will receive a personal code
  98. allowing you to play all 20 levels instead of just
  99. the first two. The levels should last many hours
  100. as they get quite tough to beat!
  101.  
  102. Registration is eight pounds or foreign equivalent.
  103. If paying by from outside the UK but from within
  104. Europe use a euro cheque made out in sterling.
  105. If outside Europe, and paying by cheque please
  106. add a further nine pounds equivalent to cover
  107. bank charges. You can also pay cash in any
  108. currency by sending only a total of ten pounds 
  109. equivalent.
