  10. bitmaps you would like to have and I will try to oblige 
  11. (within reason...like, don't ask for 127 point,etc...).  
  12. Also, I can include (and probably will anyway) varying 
  13. spaces to help you set your own type.  I like very close 
  14. spacing, but if you like to spread out your type, then this 
  15. will be available from within the font itself.  This 
  16. capability will be for those people who don't have all the 
  17. fancy new software that will do manual kerning, etc. 
  18. (available only to registered owners). [proposed spacing -- 
  19. units based on selected point size -- 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 
  20. 1/16, 1/32, 1/64 and maybe smaller]

  24. Previously, I had become very discouraged by distributing 
  25. my work on CompuServe.  A couple of bad experiences made it 
  26. difficult for me to continue.  However, recently I have 
  27. received some recognition (Thank you Richard Eckhardt), and 
  28. it has made me rethink my position.

  30. The economy is bad in Louisiana and I am not doing well.  
  31. You may have noticed the address change.  I cannot afford 
  32. the time on CompuServe except for uploading.  Also, my 
  33. troubles are your gain for neither can I afford to do any 
  34. other kind of marketing for my work other than ShareWare 
  35. (they would cost at least twice as much or more).  And just 
  36. having me "sit on these faces" (pun intended) is not doing 
  37. any good for myself or anyone else.  My first uploads to 
  38. CompuServe were rather primitive attempts.  I think now you 
  39. will find that I am capable of good -- excellent quality 
  40. alternatives to the "higher priced spreads".

  42. I will assume you know what to do with this typeface. (use 
  43. Font/DA Mover 3.2 or higher, don't let Font/DA Mover change 
  44. the font id, etc...)

  48. can't afford CIS)

  50. There is only one size bitmap with this typeface (I'm 
  51. trying to keep my long distance and your download charges 
  52. to a minimum).  And there is a good chance that it is not 
  53. very clean (some of them are however, and even print fairly 
  54. well on ImageWriter -- besides, LaserWriter doesn't care 
  55. what the bitmaps look like -- you can use geneva first, 
  56. then switch to this face before printing).  It will 
  57. however, automatically download to any PostScript Device 
  58. i.e. LaserWriter, Linotronic, or any of the new PostScript 
  59. printers that are accessed by AppleTalk.  (Versions of this 
  60. typeface can be prepared for manual downloading as a text 
  61. only file for non-Macintosh computers if the need should 
  62. arise.)

  64. If you should happen to investigate any of the other 
  65. typefaces I've uploaded you will probably discover that 
  66. this is a form letter tacked on to every one of them.  You 
  67. can skip reading the others, however, the ShareWare fee 
  68. remains.

  74. P.S. If you are curious as to what happened to 
  75. Calligraphic, I had to shelve it.  It doesn't work with the 
  76. newer LaserWriter software.  The new Fontographer software 
  77. was supposed to fix the problems.  The recompiled 
  78. Calligraphic worked with the new LW software but the 
  79. decorative letters don't print properly (they turn out with 
  80. black letters on the background, and they are supposed to 
  81. be white -- I haven't been able to fix it -- maybe with the 
  82. next release of Fontographer).  Furthermore, it would only 
  83. work if ZapfChancery was available, which leaves out 
  84. regular LW users.

  87. This font was converted to Type 1 format by the Design To 
  88. Print RoundTable on GEnie, with the permission of the 
  89. author. The conversion was accomplished using Metamorphosis 
  90. 1.5 from Altsys Corp.
