  3.  This file contains our distribution policy and information on 
  4.  all products.

  6.  Open Windows has a simple distribution policy: You have 
  7.  permission to distribute our shareware in its original form as 
  8.  long as you:

  10.  * identify it as shareware (with an appropriate definition)
  11.  
  12.  * leave all intellectual property (copyright) notices in place
  13.  
  14.  ..and as long as we do not request that you stop.

  16.  That's it.

  18.  You may archive our programs, unarchive them, include/exclude 
  19.  optional files (like this one), include them with other programs
  20.  on the same diskette, and do essentially anything you want as 
  21.  long as you follow these simple rules.  We want the widest 
  22.  possible distribution, and don't want to stand in your way as 
  23.  long as you are honest with our mutual customer.

  25.  If you wish to include Open Windows' installation program on 
  26.  your disk or CD-ROM, be sure that:

  28.  1  OWSETUP.EXE is in the same directory as the .ZIP file.
  29.  
  30.  2  The ORIGINAL version of the .ZIP is used.  OWSETUP will
  31.     NOT work if the .ZIP is redone with PKZIP 2xx or other
  32.     archiver.

  34.  3. You use the latest version of OWSETUP.  As new versions of 
  35.     the applications are released, OWSETUP is changed to 
  36.     recognize them.  An old version of OWSETUP will not install
  37.     a more recently released application.

  40.  The following files MUST be included in the distribution: WINUPD30.EXE,
  41.  WINUPD30.FRM, WINUPD30.HLP, WINUPD30.REG, README.WRI., REGISTER.TXT,
  42.  FILE_ID.DIZ, VENDINFO.DIZ.

  44.  You may choose to include all or a part of this file with your 
  45.  distribution at your option.

  47.  Our normal distribution sequence is:
  48.  
  49.  1  New versions are offered to our registered users and are
  50.     automatically shipped to new users registering an out-of-date
  51.     copy.
  52.  
  53.  2  New versions are posted on CIS in the WINSHARE forum.
  54.  
  55.  3  ASP distribution members are included in the regular ASP 
  56.     CD-ROM mailing.  This saves both of us money and effort; 
  57.          if you are not an ASP vendor or bulletin board member, 
  58.          please consider joining.
  59.  
  60.  4  Then, we send copies of major revisions of software to 
  61.     non-ASP vendors who have notified us of their interest.  If 
  62.     you are a catalog house, send us a copy of the catalog in 
  63.     which the program appears, together with a copy of the 
  64.     diskette(s) containing the program(s) you wish to distribute;
  65.     we will send you a copy of any major updates to our software.
  66.     If you run a bulletin board, send us a diskette(s) containing
  67.     the program(s) you wish to distribute, and your mailing 
  68.     address, and we will update the diskette and mail it back 
  69.     to you.
