  14. Thank you for trying FaxNow! Lite V2.5.  The following
  15. information is provided to get you faxing quickly.
  16.  
  17. Installing FaxNow! Lite
  18. =======================
  19.  
  20. Please ensure that you test your modem prior to installation
  21. of FaxNow! Lite.  Install from the single diskette enclosed
  22. onto the PC/Server that is running Windows 3.x, Windows 95,
  23. with the modem connected.Please note, This version of FaxNow!
  24. does not support Windows NT. You will need to upgrade to FaxNow!
  25. v2.5 full release.

  28. Complete the following steps:
  29. =============================

  31. 1. Insert the FaxNow! Lite Disk into your (a:\) drive and
  32.    select "Start/Run".  Enter "a:\setup" and click OK.
  33. 2. Select the drive and path where you want FaxNow! Lite
  34.    installed; for example "x:\Faxnow".
  35. 3. Select your modem from the drivers listed, or select
  36.    "Unlisted Class x" if your modem is not shown.
  37. 4. Select the Comm Port that your modem is attached to.
  38. 5. If your modem is connected to a direct line, leave the
  39.    "Dial Prefix" dialogue box empty.  If you must dial a
  40.    number to obtain an outside line, enter the number,
  41.    followed by a comma to force the modem to pause before
  42.    dialling.  Click 'OK'.
  43. 6. Enter your details in the six edit boxes, then confirm
  44.    the details are correct by clicking 'OK', or 'Cancel'
  45.    to go back.

  49. You have successfully installed FaxNow! Lite.  Please read
  50. on for a quick run down of Sending, Receiving & Viewing Faxes.

  52. ** Sending, Receiving & Viewing Faxes **
  53.  
  54. Your first fax
  55. ==============
  56. From your Start button, select 'Programs - FaxNow! - Fax Manager.
  57. To enable incoming faxes, click the right mouse button on the
  58. Incoming Faxes queue and select 'Pause'.  This will put FaxNow!
  59. Lite into Auto Answer mode.  To send a quick cover page only fax
  60. from Fax Manager press F9 to select Express Fax.

  62. Send a fax from other applications
  63. ==================================
  64. When you are ready to fax, select your applications' print
  65. options, select FaxNow! as your printer.  Enter the details
  66. of where you wish to send your fax and press 'Send'.  Your fax
  67. will be placed onto the outgoing fax queue.

  69. Receiving Faxes
  70. ===============
  71. When Fax Manager receives a new fax, select either 'Play Sound',
  72. 'Flash Icon' & 'Bring to Top' to notify users.  To automatically
  73. print a hard copy of a new fax, select the 'Print hard copy' option
  74. located under 'Settings-Fax Manager'.  Also located here are the
  75. options for background operation, so while sending, receiving &
  76. printing, your PC will run as normal.

  78. Viewing Faxes
  79. =============
  80. To view a fax, click the right mouse button on the item and
  81. select 'View'.  The Fax Viewer application will automatically
  82. open.  Options from the File toolbar allow you to re-fax using
  83. FaxNow! Lite, or simply print out your fax.

  85. Phonebook
  86. =========
  87. Enter your frequently used fax contacts in the Phonebook.
  88. Either press Add to input records, or import any CSV formatted
  89. database by selecting 'File-Import-ANSI Records'.  Phonebook
  90. also allows you to find entries quickly, searching by either
  91. Forename, Surname or Company, and also select the groups to
  92. search in.

  94. Coverpage
  95. =========
  96. FaxNow! Lite provides a standard Coverpage for you.  All
  97. the fields you complete in the Send dialogue box appear on
  98. your coverpage including your message.  Instructions on how
  99. to change the design of your coverpage are available on the
  100. RedRock web site or direct from RedRock Technical Support.

  102. the Technical Support section of this document.

  106. ** Useful Tips **
  107.  
  108. Drag & Drop
  109. ===========
  110. From Windows Explorer, drag & drop the document that you
  111. want to fax onto FaxNow! Lite Fax Manager.  This will open
  112. the documents' application (for example *.doc will open
  113. Word) and open the FaxNow! Lite address box.  Select your
  114. destination and press Send.  FaxNow! Lite will add your
  115. document to the outgoing fax queue, close the application
  116. it open and restore your default print driver.

  118. Open Fax Viewer & Phonebook from within Fax Manager
  119. Simple click the right mouse button at the top of the
  120. window, select Run-Fax Viewer or Phone Book.  This will
  121. save you having to press Start-Programs-FaxNow! Lite-Fax
  122. Viewer.

  124. Changing your Fax Modem
  125. =======================
  126. From Fax Manager Server press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F8 together
  127. and the change modem box will appear.  Select the modem
  128. you wish to use and click OK.  Fax Manager Server will
  129. close for the change to take effect, and when you restart
  130. Fax Manager Server (no need to re-start Windows) your new
  131. driver will be working.  Please do not re-install FaxNow!
  132. Lite every time you want to change your modem.
