  19. This file contains important license information regarding the use of 
  20. Coeli - Stella 2000(tm) and related Coeli software products. 
  21.  
  22. For site licensing, please contact Coeli Inc directly - 
  23. all such requests will be dealt with on an individual basis.

  25. User Groups, Computer Clubs, Disk Vendors and Distributors,
  26. Subscription Services, Disk-of-the-Month Clubs, etc., should

  35. ~Limited License for Evaluation Purposes.

  37. Coeli Inc hereby grants you a limited license to use this
  38. software for evaluation purposes either 
  39.  
  40. a) for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days, or 
  41. b) up to a usage limit of 100 program sessions, 
  42.  
  43. whichever comes sooner. 
  44.  
  45. If you intend using this software (and/or its documentation) 
  46. after the thirty day evaluation period or beyond the usage limit of 
  47. 100 program sessions, you are under a legal obligation to purchase the 
  48. software from Coeli Inc.

  50. Using this software beyond the thirty day evaluation period, 
  51. or beyond the stipulated usage limit, without registration (purchase) 
  52. of the software is a violation of the terms of this limited license.

  56. ~License Terms for Registered Copies of Stella 2000

  59. The registered version (unless otherwise stated) is intended solely for 
  60. installation on a single computer system by one registered individual. 
  61. Distribution of the registered version of Stella 2000 is strictly prohibited.

  63. Registered users: please see your e-mailed License text for terms and conditions
  64. relating specifically to registered (licensed) copies of the product(s). 
  65. A summary of these is given here to avoid fundamental misunderstandings.

  85.      individual system conflicts, clashes with third-party utilities etc.

  92. As the copyright holder for Stella 2000(tm), Coeli Inc
  93. authorizes distribution by individuals only in accordance with
  94. the following restrictions.

  96.    (User Groups, Computer Clubs, Disk Vendors and Distributors,
  97.    Subscription Services, Disk-of-the-Month Clubs, etc., should
  98.    refer to the VENDOR.TXT file for complete information relating
  99.    to them.)

  101.    (BBS and ftp SYSOPs should refer to the SYSOP.TXT file for complete
  102.    information relating to them.)

  104. Individuals are hereby granted permission by Coeli Inc 
  105. to copy the Stella 2000 software package AS ORIGINALLY DISTRIBUTED for 
  106. their own evaluation purposes or for other individuals to evaluate, ONLY 
  107. when the following conditions are met.

  109. The Stella 2000 package is defined as containing all the
  110. material listed in the VENDINFO.DIZ file.  If any files
  111. listed in VENDINFO.DIZ, or VENDINFO.DIZ itself, are missing, 
  112. then the package is not complete and distribution is prohibited.  
  113. Please contact us to obtain a complete package suitable for distribution.

  115.     o  The Stella 2000 package - including all related program
  116.        files and documentation files - CANNOT be modified in any
  117.        way and must be distributed as a complete package, without
  118.        exception.  The VENDINFO.DIZ file contains a list of
  119.        all files that are part of the Coeli package.
  120.  
  121.     o  No price or other compensation may be charged for the
  122.        Stella 2000 package.  A distribution cost may be
  123.        charged for the cost of the diskette, shipping and
  124.        handling, as long as the total (per disk) does not exceed
  125.        US$8.00 in the U.S. and Canada, US$12.00
  126.        for international distribution from the U.S., or
  127.        6 pounds sterling or its equivalent inside Europe.

  129.     o  The Stella 2000 package CANNOT be sold as part of some
  130.        other inclusive package, nor can it be included in any
  131.        commercial software packaging offer, without prior
  132.        permission from Coeli Inc.
  133.  
  134.     o  The PRINTED User's Guide may not be reproduced in whole or
  135.        in part, using any means, without the written permission
  136.        of Coeli Inc.  In other words, the disk-based
  137.        documentation may not be distributed in PRINTED (hardcopy)
  138.        form.
  139.  
  140.     o  The Stella 2000 package cannot be "rented" or "leased"
  141.        to others.
  142.  
  143.     o  Licensee shall not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify,
  144.        decompile, disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or
  145.        transfer the licensed software package except as provided 
  146.        in this agreement. Any such unauthorized use shall result in
  147.        immediate and automatic termination of this license.
  148.  
  149.     o  Licensee hereby agrees not to post the Stella 2000 software
  150.        package publicly in any ftp directory inappropriate to its
  151.        category.

  153.        Eg. pc/astronomy is an appropriate directory; pc/demo is not.

  157. Distributors are especially asked to avoid the following terms when 
  158. describing the Stella 2000 software package:

  160. free, freeware, free software, nag, nagware, public domain, demo,
  161. demonstration software, or any other term or phrase which admits of an 
  162. interpretation not in keeping with the official product definition given.
  163.  
  164. Non-compliance with this request may invalidate previous license 
  165. permissions granted by Coeli Inc to the Licensee.
  166.  
  167. Authorship of the Stella 2000 software package may not be attributed to 
  168. any name but Coeli Inc. or Coeli Software Products.

  171. PLEASE!  Show your support for Shareware by registering (purchasing)
  172. programs you actually use. Both Coeli Inc and the 
  173. very survival of shareware as a distribution channel are
  174. dependant upon your active co-operation and support. Thank you.

  180. Fully and continuously functioning evaluation software package distributed 
  181. via shareware channels, hereafter to be designated as Shareware, Shareware 
  182. package, or Stella 2000 software package.

  185. shareware distribution, we would direct you to the files Shr-ware.txt and
  186. ShareW.txt included as part of the Stella 2000 software package.

  188. The Stella 2000(tm) software package is Copyright (c) 1995-2000, Coeli Inc.
  189. All rights reserved. Stella 2000 is NOT a freeware or public domain program.

  191. This software and accompanying documentation are protected by
  192. United States Copyright law and also by International Treaty
  193. provisions. Any use of this software in violation of Copyright
  194. law or the terms of this limited license will be prosecuted to
  195. the best of our ability. The conditions under which you may copy
  196. this software and documentation are clearly outlined above under
  197. "Limited Distribution License".

  230. CONCERNING VENDINFO FILES INCLUDED WITH THE COELI PACKAGE

  233. The attached VENDINFO data record is hereby incorporated by reference.  
  234. Any distribution satisfying all the distribution requirements expressed 
  235. in that data record is hereby authorized.

  237. If the Licensee satisfies Coeli Inc's conditions for 
  238. distributing the Coeli package, Coeli Inc authorizes the 
  239. Licensee's use of its unaltered product-descriptive texts without further 
  240. permission.

  242. All licenses to distribute the Stella 2000 package are solely between the producer
  243. (Coeli Inc) and distributor (Licensee), and do not involve 
  244. VENDINFO or Rams' Island Software.
