Transcription: Mercury's craters are often named after artists, but one has been named after a great astronomer who played a major role in all branches of planetary research from the 1930s up to the time of his death in 1973. He was a member of the team responsible for the Man in a Ten mission to Mercury, and it is surely right that he was remembered forever on this small, hot canit. His name was Gerard Kuiper.
