Miranda is a tiny body with very weak gravitational pull. Moreover, we cannot be sure that the original satellite was in fact broken up. Some geologists claim that if Miranda had been disrupted and then re-formed, some of the fragments would have crashed into the surface and produced large craters but nothing of this kind can be seen on the images of Miranda.
