- ASA Mover is the program used to easily modify the file describing
- the menu for ASA version 3.10 or higher and APA version 1.00 and higher.
-
-
- Instructions
- »»»»»»»»»»»»
- This is a brand new version of ASA Mover, and its look as well as
- its interface have been profoundly changed. When you start the program, a
- first window is opened. This is the typical menu editing window that will
- be opened whenever you want to edit a new level of menu.
-
-
- The window has three gadgets (buttons): Create to create a new item,
- Edit let you edit an existing item and Delete delete selected items. Let's
- see how each gadget works in detail:
-
- - Create : A setting window opens and let you select
- options for the item. If you select Cancel
- the creation is canceled... The new item
- always appears after the item you last sel-
- ected, or at the beginning if none is.
-
- - Edit : Let you edit ALL selected items. To cancel
- changes made to one item, select Cancel.
-
- - Delete : Delete all selected items in the window and
- all its sub-items (and sub-sub-items...).
-
-
- Here's now a brief description of the settings window. It contains
- many gadgets:
-
-
- File
-
- If selected, a file requester will open up when this item is select-
- ed to choose additionnal arguments to the command.
-
-
- WB, CLI et No I/O
-
- These three buttons let you choose which environnement the program
- will run under. WB gives a WorkBench like environnement (like when you
- click on its icon). CLI starts the program like if it was a CLI, with an
- output window. No I/O is like CLI, but with no input/output window. Some
- programs don't like this setting...
-
-
- Menu Text
-
- The text that will appear in the menu for this item.
-
-
- Command
-
- The program that will be launch when this item will be selected. It
- can be leaved blank so nothing will happen (for a dumb item). You must spe-
- cify the whole path to the program so that ASA (or APA) can find it:
-
- for example:
-
- My_Disk:my_drawer/program_name
-
- Arguments
-
- The arguments that will always be given to the prgram. These argu-
- ments are placed BEFORE any other chosen in the file requester.
-
-
- Directory
-
- Let you select the default directory (cd) for the program. Useful
- for unarchiver (like Arc, Zoo, ....).
-
-
- Stack
-
- The amount of stack given to the program. Most will be happy with
- the default 6K, but some needs more. For example, NewMovie needs 16K (it
- will usually be pointed out in their documentation).
-
-
- Short Cut
-
- The keyboard short-cut for this item. Short-cut can be either one
- letter or two letters long. The short-cut are checked when you release the
- keys, so that Amiga-AS and Amiga-A are different, but Amiga-CC and Amiga-C
- are the same because you must release the K to enter the seond one.
-
-
- Req's Dir
-
- The directory that the requester will open on.
-
-
- Ok
-
- Confirm the changes made to the settings.
-
-
- Cancel
-
- Undo all changes to the item.
-
-
- The only thing remaining now are the menus of the windows. The Edit
- menu let you cut and paste selected items. Very useful to move some items
- around...
-
-
- The Project menu let you open and save the configuration file that
- describe the menu. It also contain an item to open the preference window
- where you can choose which key is used for the menu short-cuts. The minX
- , MaxX, etc... are used to set which area of the screen is active for ASA,
- but it has no meaning for APA.
