  9. DESCRIPTION

  11.     ZMachine 1.0.3 is an Amiga port of the freely distributable ZIL
  12.     interpreter. ZIL is the "Zork Implementation Language" used by
  13.     Infocom text adventure games. 
  14.  
  15.     ZMachine basically serves two functions: 
  16.  
  17.     1. Provides a superior environment to the Original Infocom Amiga 
  18.      ZIL interpretter: 
  19.  
  20.      o  Since ZMachine uses a termcap library, it is able to have 
  21.         windows that are different sizes, unlike the infocom ZIL
  22.         interpretter which has a limit on how large windows can be
  23.         made that is far too small for interlace WB users. 
  24.  
  25.      o  Adds arrow-key command history and emacs-style line editing
  26.         features. 
  27.  
  28.      o  Supports the clipboard for cutting and pasting of text.
  29.  
  30.      o  Startup and installation also has a special features for 
  31.         "Lost Treasures of Infocom" users.
  32.  
  33.     2. Allows Amiga users to use the data files from other computer
  34.      platforms to play the game on  the Amiga. Since original versions
  35.      of Infocom games that are not in the "Lost Treasures" collection
  36.      are getting scarce, the user can now purchase Atari, IBM,
  37.      or Macintosh versions of older Infocom titles and use them to play
  38.      on the Amiga by transferring the data files.
