  2. Here are the top 3 winning entries at the Silents & Anarchy Party '91
  3. in each the Graphics and Music competitions.  The Melon Dezign compilation
  4. in DMS format has, for some stupid reason, disappeared from ftp sites so
  5. I thought I would reupload it.  I ripped/depacked the images to standard
  6. IFF and music to standard Protracker for non-Amiga people.

  8. Music -

  10. 1. OVERLOAD by TIP and Mantronix of Phenomena is in Protracker format.  Use PROP
  11. which is in the music directory.  Brilliantly done tune and also used in Razor's
  12. Voyage demo which took 3rd place in the demo compeition.  Also, these guys
  13. formed Sonic Projects which has been doing music for Psygnosis games (Agony)
  14. among others.

  16. 2. HARDCORE by Static/Rebels was rippable [loads in low chip...], but it 
  17. seems like the tracker looping code has been modified or 
  18. 'updated' for the competition since the samples didn't sound correct when
  19. played under Protracker.  [how can you tell with Techno music?!  d:^]
  20. Well done.

  22. 3. BACKTRACKING by Nightlight [ex. Kefrens?] is another Protracker format
  23. mod.  Use PROP.  Mainstream Jazz [ala. Quincy Jones] and a great example of
  24. getting a nice rhythm by alternating speed settings.  Chicago_Song is another
  25. excellent tune by Nightlight.

  27. Graphics -
  28.  
  29. 1.  Maximum Overscan by Iridon/Shinida is an overscanned/lace half-brite pic.
  30. Definately the *-BEST-* original Amiga hand drawn artwork I've seen.
  31. Why such excellent work goes unnoticed in the states [i.e. in magaines]
  32. is a terrible shame.  This is Boris Vallejo/Frank Frazetta level.
  33. [and I have to wonder how old this guy is...]

  35. 2.  DOG! by Cougar/Sanity is another brilliantly done piece of artwork that
  36. is now part of the intro for the Jesterday music disk by Sanity.  low-res
  37. 5 planes.  Cougar certainly knows texturing.

  39. 3.  Hardcoremonster by R.W.O/The New Kefrens another amazing Vallejo/Frazetta
  40. type artwork.  Overscanned halfbrite format.  Check out Guardian Dragon II
  41. demo by Kefrens.
