  1. Short: Multi-format Sound Player.  Read Me.

  3. Thanks.  This is OmniPlay (v0.98), a multi-format sound player for
  4. AmigaDOS.  OmniPlay's features include:
  5.     - double-buffered playback, fast reload.
  6.     - reads 8SVX, WAV, VOC, AIFF, .au, .snd, raw (signed, unsigned,
  7.       u-law).
  8.     - offers command-line options for rate, volume, channel, etc.,
  9.       and allows you to force interpretation as any style of raw
  10.       8-bit data.
  11.     - many extra options for extra features, incl. priority
  12.       change and IFF/WAV property listing.
  13.     - residentable, 19K.
  14.     - autotyping, so you don't have to even know what a sound's
  15.       type is to get good playback.
  16.     - options and files are processed in order, so two files can
  17.       have a completely different set of options.
  18.     - lots of other neat stuff.

  20. OmniPlay is freely distributable.  See the enclosed oplay.doc file for
  21. info on command options and legal things.

  23. It's essentially complete, but there are a couple of things that have
  24. to be worked out (hence 0.98).  I won't be able to send between my
  25. Amiga and my Internet address for a few weeks, though, so I'm making
  26. this available now.  I'm still able to send/receive mail and news,
  27. however, so if you have comments, please go ahead and send them.
