  42. 2) The Sound Card/MIDI Setup Test
  43. ---------------------------------

  45. When EasyKeys is run for the first time, it gives you the option
  46. of running the Sound Card/MIDI Setup Test before continuing. It is 
  47. strongly recommended that you run this test in order to eliminate 
  48. any possible sound problems which may occur.
  49.  
  50. The Sound Card/MIDI Setup Test is a series of procedures which
  51. determine what sound device configuration is best suited for use 
  52. with your system. You can run these diagnostics at any time by 
  53. clicking on the 'Auto Configure...' button in the EasyKeys's Setup
  54. dialog. This test gives you a quick and easy way to configure 
  55. your sound device for use with EasyKeys.

  57. The Sound Card/MIDI Setup Test asks you a series of questions while 
  58. attempting to play music using the available sound sources. Your 
  59. answers to these questions help EasyKeys to recognize what type of 
  60. sound card or MIDI instrument you have in order to insure that the 
  61. music always plays correctly on it.

  63. If you change your system configuration in a way which may affect 
  64. EasyKeys, the program detects this and runs the Sound Card/MIDI 
  65. Setup Test again, automatically.

  69. 3) How EasyKeys Installs Itself
  70. --------------------------------

  72. The EasyKeys Setup program does very little in the way of
  73. modifying your current Windows environment. The Setup program
  74. adds one simple line to your Win.ini file:

  76. sjm=C:\EASYKEYS\easykeys.exe ^.jbx
  77.  
  78. In addition, the Setup program asks you to specify a directory
  79. where it will then install EasyKeys and the following
  80. associated subdirectories:

  82. . The JAMBOX subdirectory contains a demo song.
  83. . The STYLES subdirectory contains styles.
  84. . The WAVES subdirectory contains .WAV files.

  114. the CompuServe Information Service. CompuServe members can speak

  123. Some of the sound effects included in this release are part of the
  124. SoundWAV CDROM collection, volume I.  These files start with the
