  11. INTRODUCTION

  14. BocaSoft WipeOut is a 32 bit screen saver for OS/2 featuring numerous 
  15. animated displays integrated with digital audio, password protection, screen
  16. capture, randomizer, and on-line help. A developer kit is included that 
  17. allows the development of new savers. WipeOut also provides support for IBM
  18. Ultimotion and Intel Indeo full motion video.

  20. BocaSoft WipeOut requires OS/2 Version 2, a 3.5" floppy disk drive and 2 MB
  21. of disk space. Digital audio or video require MMPM/2, which is included with 
  22. OS/2 2.1, and a supported audio card.
  23.  
  24. The software has been tested under OS/2 2.0 with MMPM/2 1.0 in addition
  25. to OS/2 2.1 with MMPM/2 1.1.  A variety of screen resolutions such as 640x480, 
  26. 800x600, and 1024x768 have been tested.  All currently supported audio cards 
  27. have been tested including the IBM M-AUDIO, Sound Blaster and Media Vision 
  28. Pro-Audio Spectrum.

  30. DEMO USERS
  31. ----------
  32. Demo users can now use audio and the video screen saver. No .wav files are 
  33. supplied with the demo. You can configure the program to use MMPM/2 .wav files
  34. or any others that you might have. Go into the global setup dialog and select
  35. the Settings push button. In the entry field for the selected saver you should
  36. type the full path name of the .wav file to be used, or move the .wav file to 
  37. the WipeOut directory.

  39. NOTES

  42. 1.  WipeOut does not currently support automatic time-out for full screen DOS,
  43.     OS/2 or WIN-OS/2 sessions. All programs run on the OS/2 desktop in 
  44.     seamless WIN-OS/2, windowed DOS and windowed OS/2 sessions are supported.

  46. 2.  If you have removed the current directory (.) from your LIBPATH statement
  47.     in config.sys problems occur with accessing wipeout library files.
  48.  
  49. 3.  A know problem in the IBM SVGA driver causes font distortion in the 
  50.     billboard and message shuttle savers.
  51.  
  52. 4.  The Ultimotion video portion of MMPM/2 must be installed to run the video
  53.     screen saver.
  54.  
  55. 5.  MMPM/2 subsystem problems may cause WipeOut to lose audio is some cases. 
  56.     If this occurs WipeOut should be restarted.
  57.  
  58. 6.  In some cases the video subsystem can exhibit a variety of problems 
  59.     including traps or system hangs. An patch to the MMPM/2 1.1 release for 
  60.     video is available from IBM for these problems.

  62. 7.  The rotate saver can not operate on OS/2 Version 2.0, it will not be loaded
  63.     and will not appear in the saver list box.
  64.  
  65. 8.  When running WipeOut on OS/2 Version 2.0, some applications may exit
  66.     abnormally. To alleviate this problem start WipeOut with a /H parameter.

  68. 9.  Ultimotion videos do not appear correct in 16 color mode, such as VGA. 
  69.     
  70. 10. Currently only 16 color bitmaps are supported for the display bitmap and
  71.     billboard savers.
