  4. The Setup dialog  allows the user change program settings for the System Sounds 
  5. program. All setup changes are saved when System Sounds is exited and are used 
  6. on subsequent initializations. 
  7.  
  8. Select the Performance radio button to indicate that the program should not 
  9. close and reopen the audio device for each audio event. This setting is 
  10. appropriate when not attempting to run WIN-OS/2 with multimedia extensions 
  11. while BocaSoft System Sounds is running. This selection lends the best 
  12. performance for sound generation.

  14. Select the Compatibility radio button to indicate that the program should close 
  15. and reopen the audio device for each audio event. This is useful when 
  16. attempting to run WIN-OS/2 with multimedia extensions while BocaSoft System 
  17. Sounds is running. This selection has somewhat less performance in generating 
  18. audio events.

  20. Select the Start Minimized check box to indicate that the program should start 
  21. in a minimized state. 
  22.  
  23. Select the Memory File Size Limit entry field to indicate the maximum size for 
  24. files that are to be cached by System Sounds in system memory. This setting is 
  25. useful if you are attempting to associate very large files with system events, 
  26. if the file size is greater than the Memory File Size Limit it will not be 
  27. preloaded into system memory and will be played from disk.

  29. Select the Disable Events check box to disable audio for all System Sounds 
  30. events, this setting does not apply to key sounds. When selected the program 
  31. will unload any memory based audio files, which are not also associated with 
  32. key sounds, from memory.

  34. Select the Disable Keys check box to disable audio for all Key Sounds, this 
  35. setting does not apply to event sounds. When selected the program will unload 
  36. any memory based audio files, which are not also associated with event sounds, 
  37. from memory.

  39. Select the Disable Events, Keys check box to disable audio for all Event and 
  40. Key Sounds. When selected the program will unload all memory based audio files 
  41. and close the audio device.

  43. Select the Volume circular slider control to indicate at what volume level the 
  44. program will generate audio.

  46. Select the OK push button to accept the current settings and dismiss the 
  47. dialog.

  49. Select the Help push button to view this help panel.
