  28. bauds are 300,1200,2400,9600 on a Intel 9600EX. Purchasers of
  29. Pmcomm will be given special access with extended time, no
  30. upload/download ratio and access to a special file area, with the
  31. latest update of Pmcomm for one year.

  33. INSTALLATION
  34. ******NOTE********IMPORTANT******
  35. If you are installing this program over a previous version of Pmcomm
  36. older then version 1.07, please delete the setup.dat file before
  37. running Pmcomm. Pmcomm will re-create a file called setup.dat. This
  38. file contains the user configurable parameters and will also store
  39. different window sizes and positions on the screen.You will also
  40. have to rename your old dialing directory from dial.dat to pmcomm.fon.
  41. This version of Pmcomm requires OS/2 2.0 with the service pack (supplied
  42. by IBM), or OS/2 2.1 or later.

  44. DIFFERENCES BETWEEN the DEMO and COMMERCIAL VERSIONS
  45.         Zmodem receive and Scripts have been disabled in the demonstration
  46. version. With the other protocols that are available and with the keyboard
  47. macros users should still find the program very usable. For the people that
  48. do find that Pmcomm does meet their needs and wish to purchase, then
  49. they will receive the additional the benefits of Zmodem and Scripts, as
  50. well as a printed manual. The commercial version also has a host mode
  51. that is written in REXX. The demo has an "order reminder box" that will
  52. be displayed at various times. This is not in the commerical version...

  55. INSTALLING PMCOMM
  56.         The easiest way to install Pmcomm is to use the supplied install.exe
  57. program. This will copy the files to the correct directory, and set up
  58. objects on the desktop. Another way to install Pmcomm is to copy all of
  59. the supplied files to a directory on your hard drive, and run the pmcomm.exe
  60. program from there. When Pmcomm is first executed it will try to use
  61. COM1 as the current device. If something else is already using COM1 then
  62. an error opening the device will occur. Just change the name at this time
  63. to the com port that you wish to use.

  65. ONLINE DOCUMENTATION
  66.         To view the online documentation type in "view pmcomm.inf" at
  67. an OS/2 prompt. This will use the help manager to display the online
  68. documentation. A text file of the documentation is not supplied in order
  69. to keep this demonstration program small.
