  2. June 18, 1993. Instructions for installation of OS/2 2.1 PMWP.DLL fix.

  5. Boot OS/2 2.1 from the Install diskette, and insert Disk 1 when requested.
  6. At the first installation welcome panel, press the Esc key to exit to a
  7. command prompt.
  8.  
  9. Change the current drive and current directory to the location of the
  10. 3 fix files - APPLYFIX.CMD, PATCH.EXE and PATCH.RTP. This may be on a
  11. diskette or hard drive dependant on where you chose to place these fix
  12. files when you received them.
  13.  
  14. Type the following command
  15.     applyfix c:
  16. where "c:" is the harddisk that OS/2 2.1 has been installed to.
  17.  
  18. The applyfix program will replace the PMWP.DLL in the \OS2\DLL directory,
  19. and will create a backup copy in \OS2\ARCHIVE\OS2\DLL. This backup copy
  20. will be needed if any future fixes are to be applied - it is suggested you
  21. keep this backup copy on diskette should you need to delete the backup
  22. from your harddisk.

  24. This PMWP.DLL fixes the following problem :
  25.  
  26.    1. APAR PJ08808 - When installing 2.1 over an earlier version of OS/2
  27.       without formatting, the system may reboot to a white screen and
  28.       fail to bring up the desktop.
  29.  
  30.    2. APAR PJ08727 - The final "shutdown complete" message is displayed
  31.       underneath the "shutdown please wait" message on some systems.
  32.  
  33.    3. APAR PJ08606 - Mass duplication of template objects after creating
  34.       a shadow.
