  1. THIS PATCH RELEASE WILL UPGRADE  BACKMASTER v1.0  TO  v1.01
  2.  
  3. BEFORE RUNNING THIS PATCH IT IS NECESSARY THAT VERSION 1.0 
  4. OF BACKMASTER BE INSTALLED.
  5.  
  6.  
  7. This BackMaster patch fixes the following problems:
  8.  
  9.  1)  Files on tape having more than a 20:1 compression ratio would
  10.      not be read correctly by verify or restore.
  11.  
  12.  2)  When OVERWRITE IF NEWER selected, files would be overwritten
  13.      if the version on tape was older than the version on the hard drive.
  14.  
  15.  3)  Bad Offset message returned from restore or verify.
  16.  
  17.  4)  Fatal error 10010005 returned after trying to write to a write-
  18.      protected cartridge.
  19.  
  20.  5)  QUICK ERASE and FORMAT TAPE dialog windows would loose focus
  21.      after a message window appeared.  On a mouseless system, focus
  22.      could not be returned to the dialog windows, making them impossible
  23.      to close.

  25.  6)  High resolution displays would not show the check marks for selected
  26.      folders and drives in the BackMaster file selection window.
  27.  
  28.  7)  The BackMaster installation program (BMINST.EXE) would always
  29.       attempt to access A:, causing an error if no diskette was in the
  30.       A: drive.

  33. To install this patch:
  34.  
  35. (1) - Go to an OS/2 Command prompt.
  36.  
  37. (2) - Change to the directory to which BackMaster was installed.
  38.  
  39.     **** THIS IS IMPORTANT!! FOR THIS PATCH PROGRAM TO OPERATE ****
  40.     **** CORRECTLY YOUR DEFAULT WORKING DIRECTORY MUST BE THE  ****
  41.     **** DIRECTORY WHERE BACKMASTER IS INSTALLED.              ****

  43. (3) - Execute the PATCHBM program included with this patch.  You may need to 
  44.        include the drive letter and path in the command.
  45.  
  46. (4) - Reboot the system.
  47.  
  48.     For example, if BackMaster was installed to the BACKMAST
  49.     directory of C:, and the patch is on a disk in drive A:, type
  50.     the following commands:
  51.       C:  <enter>
  52.       cd BACKMAST <enter>
  53.       A:patchbm <enter>
