- Well, I wrote these two little macros because I missed the smartquotes macro
- offered in Word for Windows 2.0. I also found the typographic quotes offered
- by DeScribe to be a little depressing. So I wrote these macros. Enclosed
- are the two macro files and as well as the font that this macro needs to work.
- Basically, the macro "AutoSingle" will determine if you need a left or right
- single typographic quote and insert it while the "AutoQuote" will determine
- the same for regular quotes.
-
- So I offer these two macros to the public domain to see if someone else finds
- them as useful as I do and for someone who does not want to bother learning
- the Macro language. I downloaded the dingbats font from ftp-os2.cdrom.com
- and used "Pfm2Afm" to convert it. There was no mention of the font being
- shareware in the file so I must assume that the font is also freeware.
-
- WARNING
- I give no guarantees with this macro. While it works fine for me, it has
- not been tested for all situtations, and therefore could eat your life's work
- for all I know (although I doubt it). Don't bother suing me because you
- won't get much. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
-
- Now that cheery stuff is out of the way...
-
- INSTALLATION
-
- First, install the dingbats font included in this zip.
- 1) open the System Setup menu and then open the Font Palette
- 2) click on edit font
- 3) click on add font
- 4) type in the directory name where this unzipped is located
- 5) select "dingbats" and click on "OK"
- 6) close all windows
-
- 7) copy the files "AutoSingle" and "AutoQuotes" to the directory
- /DeScribe/Macros (or whatever you have renamed your Macros directory to)
- 8) then just run the macros when you need a quote
-
- I personally used the keyboard manager to set Alt-Ctrl-' (the quote key) to
- run the AutoQuote and Alt-' (again, the quote thing) to run the AutoSingle
- macro. Of course, if you find a better method...
-
- If you have any questions, comments or especially suggestions on how to improve
- this macro, please e-mail me. My address is dregeczi@sfu.ca.

- Hope you enjoy!
