  15.       The OS/2 2.1 audio filter driver, CDU8002, will enable the audio
  16.       mode of your SONY SCSI CD-ROM 8002 (also known as Apple CD-150).

  23.       This program is based on undocumented data structures.
  24.       An error in this base device driver or in software which uses it
  25.       can cause your system to lock up and require rebooting, resulting
  26.       in data loss.

  28.       valuable files or data. Because he can have no control over how
  29.       this program is used the author accepts no liability for any damage.

  45.       Writing this driver has taken a long time and lots of work (because
  46.       neither Apple nor Sony could/wanted to provide technical information).

  48.       Therefore this driver is shareware. This means you may try the
  49.       software for 40 days. After the trial period, you must pay a small
  50.       fee if you want to continue using the software.

  53.       the end of this file.

  55.       You are encouraged to copy and pass on the unregistered shareware
  56.       version of this program, if the program is distributed in its original
  57.       form (complete, unmodified).

  61.       Installation
  62.       ------------

  64.       It is recommended you have an OS/2 boot disk ready, just in case
  65.       the system locks up during the boot process and you want to remove
  66.       the driver.

  68.       Installation is easy (you don't need to boot from your installation
  69.       disks to install the driver):

  71.       0. Ensure data mode works. If not, install a generic SCSI CD-ROM
  72.          using "System Setup".
  73.  
  74.       1. Edit your CONFIG.SYS file (using the OS/2 "System Editor"):
  75.           E CONFIG.SYS
  76.  
  77.       - If present, remove the line "BASEDEV=SONYCDS1.FLT", since neither
  78.         your CDU-8002 nor CDU8002.FLT are compatible with this driver.

  80.       - Add the line
  81.           BASEDEV=CDU8002.FLT
  82.         (no subdirectory name!)

  84.       2. Copy the file CDU8002.FLT to your OS/2 system directory
  85.           COPY CDU8002.FLT x:\OS2\*.* /V
  86.         where x is your OS/2 boot drive.

  88.       3. Shutdown and reboot your computer.

  90.       If all goes well and your CD-ROM is powered on, the driver will
  91.       beep twice and display a rather large shareware information screen.

  93.       This screen IS THE ONLY LIMITATION of the shareware version.

  98.       This driver may work with other Apple SCSI-CD ROMs made by Sony.

  105.       The CDU-8002 is NOT compatible with the CDU-541. If you exchange
  106.       the EPROM chips you will soon note that data mode does not work
  107.       properly.
