  10. Welcome to TreeSize, a powerful directory space lister.
  11. TreeSize ist able to calculate all the directories on your drive
  12. with size and percentage.
  13.  
  14. There are two percentages : the absolute and the relative percentage.
  15.  
  16. Absolute percentage means how much space the specific directory needs
  17. on your disk, e.g. if a directory needs 10 Mbytes on a  100 MBytes drive,
  18. you will get 10 %.
  19.  
  20. Relative percentage means how much space the specific directory needs
  21. caculated to the parent directory. This means that you now can easily
  22. get the sizes of subdirectories, e.g. if you got the following tree :

  24.   rel. %
  25.   xx.xx%    d:\test1
  26.   75.00%      d:\test1\x1
  27.   25.00%      d:\test1\x2
  28.  
  29. this means, that subdirectory x1 needs 75% , and subdirectory x2
  30. needs 25% of space in subdirectory test1 (and below).

  33. Syntax :

  36. TreeSize doesn't need specific parameters, but you can specify a
  37. directory at which to start the process, e.g. :

  45. 1.0 : First publishing via Internet (ftp.cdrom.com and ftp.garbo.uwasa.fi

  47. 1.1 : Bugfixes :
  48.        o For some users the space for directory size seems too small, now
  49.          it is space for sizes up to 999 Gigabytes (i think this should last
  50.          for some time !)
  51.        o Fixed a problem with percentage space (also too small)
  52.        o DOS Version : OOPS, this version hasn't allowed redirecting.
  53.          Very bad on big drives !
