  4. Welcome to DeskMail, a new software offering from TriSys Corporation.  DeskMail 
  5. provide OS/2 users with a Graphical User Interface (GUI) into the Office Vision 
  6. for VM (OV/VM) environment.  DeskMail is based on the DOS Office Direct Connect 
  7. (DODC) feature from IBM.  Some functions have been disabled from this prototype 
  8. to ensure that it is not implemented as an end user product with this release.

  10. Unfortunately, many applications are now being written to connect to OV from 
  11. desktop environments such as DOS and Windows, but no one seems to be offering 
  12. any solutions for OS/2.  It is our opion that this is due to a lack of 
  13. understanding OS/2 and how its strengths can be exploited for software of this 
  14. type.

  16. With this software, we are interested in feedback with how it should look and 
  17. feel to the end user.  If you let us know how you would like this application 
  18. to look and feel, it will be placed into the "real" application. If you have 
  19. specific needs that may be unique to your company (perhaps a special look) 
  20. please also let us know.  We are more than happy to create customized software 
  21. solutions for your company.

  36. Installing DeskMail is a simple task ... simply unzip the DESKEXE.ZIP file into 
  37. the directory you will be running the program from.  If you plan to test this 
  38. on a network, you will need to run the INSTALL program once the files have been 
  39. unzipped.  The INSTALL program will update the SYSINI.INI file in the current 
  40. directory.  This INI file contains information on the system defaults for the 
  41. program, as well as location information for the user customizable INI file. 
  42. Once you have installed DeskMail, you can run the change configuration option 
  43. to change the user defaults.
