  30. 2.  GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE IBM LIBRARY READER INSTALLATION PROGRAM

  33. The IBM Library Reader installation program installs the IBM Library Reader
  34. on an OS/2 or DOS workstation.  You can also use it to identify addition
  35. drives if you move books around or add new drives after installation.
  36.  
  37. If you already have a BookManager READ licensed program, you do not need to
  38. install the IBM Library Reader, because you can use your BookManager READ to
  39. view the books in the IBM Online Library.  You should still use the IBM
  40. Library Reader installation program to identify the your BookManager READ the
  41. drives that will hold the books in the IBM Online Library.

  45. 3.  INSTALLING OR UPDATING THE IBM LIBRARY READER FROM A DISKETTE
  46. _________________________________________________________________

  48. These instructions assume that you are installing the IBM Library Reader from
  49. a diskette because your OS/2 or DOS workstation does not have a CD-ROM drive
  50. attached.  They also assume that you created the diskette using the
  51. instructions in the book "IBM Online Library: Distributing and Customizing
  52. the Library," or someone else created it and gave it to you.  The
  53. IBM Library Reader should be in a directory named "\EZ2INST" on the diskette.

  55. The installation program installs the IBM Library Reader on your hard disk.
  56.  
  57. 1.  Insert the diskette into the diskette drive.
  58.  
  59. 2.  Go to an OS/2 or DOS command prompt.
  60.  
  61. 3.  Switch to the diskette drive that contains the IBM Library Reader.

  63.     For example, if you are using diskette drive "A", type:

  67.     If you have more than one diskette drive, you can use any one of them.

  69. 4.  Change to the directory on the diskette that contains the IBM Library
  70.     Reader.  Type:

  72.       cd \ez2inst

  74. 5.  Start the IBM Library Reader installation program.  Type:

  78.     When the program starts, follow the instructions on the screen.  If you
  79.     need help filling in the items on the panel, move the cursor to the item
  80.     you want help with, and press F1.
