Using the Online Bible on a CD-ROM
==================================
Running the Online Bible from a CD-ROM is easy.
FAST START
~~~~~~~~~~
If you have a colour monitor and do not wish to change any settings or
add any notes to the Bible you can run the entire program from the
CD-ROM. Do the following:
a) Make sure you have at least 20 files specified in your CONFIG.SYS
FILES=20
A larger number will not hurt.
b) Reboot your computer if you had less than 20 files specified in
your CONFIG.SYS
c) Issue command:
mm
Ignore error message when you end the program about not being able
to update the OPTIONS file.
HARD DISK INSTALL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To change settings or add notes to the Bible you must install a small
portion of the Online Bible on your hard drive. This requires less than
400K.
1) Do a CD-ROM install using the install program. Select "Disk Install"
on Mini Menu to get started. Follow the on-screen instructions to
create a directory on your hard drive that will contain your personal
verse notes, topics, and lexicon notes. This requires about 200k of
hard disk space.
2) You can select various versions to install on your hard disk by selecting
the appropriate CD-ROM directory.
Z:\OLB\BIBLE - English Versions
Z:\OLB\BIBLEDUT - Dutch Versions
Z:\OLB\BIBLEFRE - French Versions
Z:\OLB\BIBLEGER - German Versions
Z:\OLB\BIBLEMSC - Misc. Versions
- Greek / Hebrew
- Turkish New Testament
- Finish
- Hungarian
- South Africans
- Apocrypha
Z:\OLB\BIBLERUS - Russian Versions
Z:\OLB\BIBLESPA - Spanish Versions
Z:\OLB\BIBLETBL - Tribal Versions
Change "Z" to the drive letter of your CD-ROM.
a) First, to access versions from the hard disk instead of from the
CD-ROM, install the versions in the same directory in the hard
drive, for example, "C:\BIBLE". If you are running the AV-NIV or
foreign versions that require a royalty payment, install the
missing pieces we sent to you at this time.
b) Secondly, run the CD-ROM install as often as necessary to include
each language group you want. For example, to install the
English, German and Tribal languages, run the install three
times. The first time you would select "Z:\OLB\BIBLE" for the
CD-ROM path. The second time you would select "Z:\OLB\BIBLEGER",
and the third time, "Z:\OLB\BIBLETBL". In each case, select the
same hard drive directory, for example, "C:\BIBLE".
c) During the install, a BIBLE.INI is created in the hard disk
directory. You can modify this with any simple editor to
customise your ONLINE BIBLE installation and to select which of
the notes' files to add to the notes' carousel. A maximum of six
notes are allowed in the notes' carousel and there are many more
than six English note sets installed in the CD-ROM "Z:\OLB\BIBLE"
directory. As well as some of the foreign directories have
foreign language notes in addition to the English notes.
d) The Mini-Menu we create can only handle a maximum of nine
versions. When the Mini-Menu is built, you are asked which of a
maximum of nine version you want to access from the Mini-Menu. If
you wish to access more versions than are displayed on the
Mini-Menu, you can access them directly by typing their name at
the command prompt. You can also customise your selection by
editing the file "MM0.BAT" on the hard disk to access the
versions you want.
3) Read the manual provided on the CD-ROM using the Mini-Menu program we
supply. You can order a printed manual for about $5 in the US from:

P.S. The occult symbol, "" is "Ankh", the ancient Egyptian sign for
life. It is also a "form feed" character, used in every DOS system, to
force the last page of this document to print on your printer. Do not
believe everything you read by Bob Larson in his book on "Satanism".
