  1. Using the Online Bible on a CD-ROM

  4. Running the Online Bible from a CD-ROM is easy.
  5.  
  6. FAST START
  7. ~~~~~~~~~~
  8.    If you have a colour monitor and do not wish to change any settings or
  9.    add any notes to the Bible you can run the entire program from the
  10.    CD-ROM.  Do the following:
  11.  
  12.    a) Make sure you have at least 20 files specified in your CONFIG.SYS
  13.  
  14.        FILES=20
  15.  
  16.       A larger number will not hurt.
  17.  
  18.    b) Reboot your computer if you had less than 20 files specified in
  19.       your CONFIG.SYS
  20.  
  21.    c) Issue command:

  25.    Ignore error message when you end the program about not being able
  26.    to update the OPTIONS file.

  29. HARD DISK INSTALL
  30. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  31.    To change settings or add notes to the Bible you must install a small
  32.    portion of the Online Bible on your hard drive. This requires less than
  33.    400K.

  35. 1) Do a CD-ROM install using the install program. Select "Disk Install"
  36.    on Mini Menu to get started. Follow the on-screen instructions to
  37.    create a directory on your hard drive that will contain your personal
  38.    verse notes, topics, and lexicon notes. This requires about 200k of
  39.    hard disk space.

  41. 2) You can select various versions to install on your hard disk by selecting
  42.    the appropriate CD-ROM directory.

  45.        Z:\OLB\BIBLEDUT - Dutch Versions
  46.        Z:\OLB\BIBLEFRE - French Versions
  47.        Z:\OLB\BIBLEGER - German Versions
  48.        Z:\OLB\BIBLEMSC - Misc. Versions
  49.                        - Greek / Hebrew
  50.                        - Turkish New Testament
  51.                        - Finish
  52.                        - Hungarian
  53.                        - South Africans
  54.                        - Apocrypha
  55.        Z:\OLB\BIBLERUS - Russian Versions
  56.        Z:\OLB\BIBLESPA - Spanish Versions
  57.        Z:\OLB\BIBLETBL - Tribal Versions

  59.    Change "Z" to the drive letter of your CD-ROM.

  61.    a) First, to access versions from the hard disk instead of from the 
  62.       CD-ROM, install the versions in the same directory in the hard 
  63.       drive, for example, "C:\BIBLE". If you are running the AV-NIV or 
  64.       foreign versions that require a royalty payment, install the
  65.       missing pieces we sent to you at this time.

  67.    b) Secondly, run the CD-ROM install as often as necessary to include
  68.       each language group you want. For example, to install the
  69.       English, German and Tribal languages, run the install three
  70.       times. The first time you would select "Z:\OLB\BIBLE" for the
  71.       CD-ROM path. The second time you would select "Z:\OLB\BIBLEGER",
  72.       and the third time, "Z:\OLB\BIBLETBL". In each case, select the
  73.       same hard drive directory, for example, "C:\BIBLE".

  75.    c) During the install, a BIBLE.INI is created in the hard disk
  76.       directory.  You can modify this with any simple editor to
  77.       customise your ONLINE BIBLE installation and to select which of
  78.       the notes' files to add to the notes' carousel. A maximum of six
  79.       notes are allowed in the notes' carousel and there are many more
  80.       than six English note sets installed in the CD-ROM "Z:\OLB\BIBLE"
  81.       directory. As well as some of the foreign directories have
  82.       foreign language notes in addition to the English notes.

  84.    d) The Mini-Menu we create can only handle a maximum of nine 
  85.       versions.  When the Mini-Menu is built, you are asked which of a 
  86.       maximum of nine version you want to access from the Mini-Menu.  If 
  87.       you wish to access more versions than are displayed on the 
  88.       Mini-Menu, you can access them directly by typing their name at
  89.       the command prompt. You can also customise your selection by
  90.       editing the file "MM0.BAT" on the hard disk to access the
  91.       versions you want.

  93. 3) Read the manual provided on the CD-ROM using the Mini-Menu program we
