ONLINE BIBLE MASTERS FOR COPYING AND SHARING WITH OTHERS
========================================================
All the tools and data are supplied for you to create master disks
for distributing the Online Bible.
TOOLS
=====
COPYQM is a general purpose copy program used to quickly replicate
disks. The program and documentation is located in the subdirectory
\OLB\MASTERS\COPYQM.
a) We allow formatted disks "age" for one month before we use them.
Any that fail to copy after this are returned to the supplier.
b) The COPYQM 3 1/2 HD masters are stored in the directory
\OLB\MASTERS\IMAGES. To create copies on preformatted disks follow
the onscreen instructions when you use our menu to copy disks.
COPYQM is a shareware program. If you use it be sure to register with
the author. They DO NOT accept phone calls for help from unregistered
users.
The latest shareware version of SYDEX's COPYQM and other tools are in
the directory \OLB\MASTERS\SYDEX.
DISK IMAGES
===========
The MAC images for COPYQM for 3 1/2 inch HD disks are included in the
directory \OLB\MASTERS\IMAGES. These are grouped by prefix in this
directory. The suffix is our internal part number and also serves to
organise each series.
The IBM masters are stored by file name in the respective directory.
Select "Making IBM Masters" on the copy menu and follow the on-screen
instructions.
DISK IMAGES for the MAC Online Bible
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The COPYQM images for the SCHOLAR's PAK for 3 1/2 inch HD disks are
included in the directory \OLB\MASTERS\MACIMAGES. Using COPYQM you can
make 3 1/2 HD masters for MAC machines. These are grouped by prefix in
this directory. The suffix is a serial number for multiple disks in the
same series and serves to organise each series.
The MAC masters are made up of two 720K archives on one 1440K disk.
Use your Mac to recreate 720K masters from the 1440K disks.
MAC Transfer Program
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The subdirectory \OLB\MASTERS\MACSEE contains an IBM PC program "MACSEE"
that reads and writes MAC disks on an IBM PC.
Source Files for Translations
=============================
These are stored as directories of files under the directory
\OLB\MASTERS\TEXTS as DOS files. The following describes the directories.
AV - A subdirectory containing the exact 1769 Authorised Version text
in plain ASCII format in 66 files.
DARBY - 1890 Darby translation in LHARC format
YLT - 1898 Young's Literal Translation in LHARC format
Others will be added in future releases. For example to expand YLT type
lharc e ylt
This creates 66 files in LHARC format which in turn must be expanded.
LHARC.EXE is stored in the texts directory.
Disk Labels
===========
The file \OLB\LABELS.EXE contains a self extracting file of the
labels we use for out disks. Not all the labels are valid since some of
those versions are not for general distribution. Expand this file into
the directory \AVERY\JOBS. We are using Avery Label Pro Version 1.61 to
make our labels on an HP III laser printer. Use Avery form 5160 or
equivalent for your labels. Order the Avery Label Pro program from:
Avery Commercial Products Division

Source of Disks
===============
We buy our disks from "MEI Micro Center". Call (800) 634-3478 or (614)
481-4417. Buy only certified, formatted HD disks. Their quality is
good and MEI's price is competitive.
Verifying Masters
=================
Very rarely a defective CD-ROM may be created. To verify the contents of
the Online Bible CD-ROM material, use the menu option on the main menu
and select "Verify CD" and follow the on-screen instructions.
If any file is listed as unmarked, then one of the following is true:
a) the CD-ROM is defective.
- get replecement from your vendor.
b) the CD-ROM drive is unreliable,
- repeat the test on someone else's CD drive to verify this BEFORE
you call your vendor asking for a replacement.
DIET Compression
================
The complete shareware package for DIET is in the self-extracting file
\OLB\DIET14.EXE. We use this to compress our verse notes, topics and
lexicons.
