  1. MEX is a new modem program for CP/M and derivative operating systems.  It
  2. is a superset of such programs as MODEM7 and MDM ... new features include:
  3.  
  4.     o Compatible with MDM7 overlays
  5.     o PHONE command allows phone numbers to be dynamically entered
  6.       into and removed from the phone library ... phone numbers are
  7.       associated with mnemonics that may be up to 12 characters long,
  8.       and may optionally specify the baudrate for each site in the list.
  9.     o KEY command supports multiple-character keystring creation and
  10.       deletion, for use as dedicated function keys in terminal-mode
  11.     o LOAD and SAVE commands allow keystring definitions and phone
  12.       number libraries to be saved to and loaded from disk files
  13.     o READ command supports unattended sessions, under control of a
  14.       disk file created with an editor (similar in concept to CP/M's
  15.       SUBMIT, with enhancements)
  16.     o Greatly enhanced terminal mode
  17.     o SENDOUT command to send strings to the modem (usually under con-
  18.       trol of a READ file).
  19.     o CALL command allows multiple sites lists to be specified, and each
  20.       number to be repetitvely re-dialed any number of times.
  21.     o STAT command allows the inspection and modification of a large
  22.       number of system variables
  23.     o HELP command random-accesses a disk file to provide an on-line
  24.       documentation facility that completely explains the program
  25.     o CLONE command allows MEX to be saved to disk, with the current
  26.       state intact (including any defined phone numbers and keystrings).
  27.     o Special features to enhance MEX-to-MEX connections
  28.     o Support for all CCP commands (rename, erase, type ...) extended
  29.       to include ZCPR2-style drive/user specifications
  30.     o Patch file allows many default options to be modified
