  70.    somehow a dream comes  true with the  release of this huge archive, that i
  71.    have compiled over the last years with a few big breaks. without any doubt
  72.    this is the biggest and most  complete falcon software  collection so far,
  73.    featuring  over  11oo  zipped  programs of  falcon -only- software: tools,
  74.    demos, games, magazines, utilities, sources and so on.
  75.  
  76.    this one should be released already some years ago but i didnœt got my ass
  77.    up doing the finishing bits. i stumbled from time to time over the back up
  78.    cd again, adding a few files and put it back in the case...
  79.  
  80.    untill now... the cd  is nearly  filled up now  and so  itœs time  for the
  81.    first release, letœs call it v1.o...

  92.    you may  say, there are  a lot of  falcon software  cdœs  around  already,
  93.    starting with  the -transmission  cd-, the  -mission cd series-  over  the
  94.    barely legal -falcon power cdœs- and a few others. but all those  archives
  95.    had one thing  in common, even thought they were made for the falcon, they
  96.    often contained big parts of st/ste  software that  was falcon compatible,
  97.    or they contained  all stuff as  executable -and- compacted, offered a big
  98.    bunch of  cracked and  regged stuff or were finally filled up with tons of
  99.    mods and avi files.

  101.    i got damn  tired about all  this drawbacks and thought about releasing an
  102.    archive  that  will  contain software  for the  falcon -only- and  since i
  103.    collected  all falcon  software bits i  got  my hands  on from  the  early
  104.    beginning in the middle  nineties as  i got my  first  falcon, i took this
  105.    collection as base for a very own collection/archive.
  106.  
  107.    even though i lost a big part of my falcon collection within the time as i
  108.    didnœt got back  some borrowed  backups i matched it to get the most stuff
  109.    back later on in heavy download sessions.

  111.    furthermore the idea was, to  save all this  software for the  future, the
  112.    internet  isnœt a real  save place, so  many ftp-servers and homepages got
  113.    lost in  the past, with all the stuff on them. and so the private archives
  114.    arenœt save, too... many harddisk crashs and destroyed disx later everyone
  115.    of you should know that...

  126.    in this  archive i tried  to collect  any single  piece  of -free- falcon
  127.    software that  was released since the launch of that machine in 1992. you
  128.    may see  that there are  a bunch of  programs included in several release
  129.    versions, but  since  some were  buggie  or  featured  several  changes i
  130.    decided to include every version that i could get my hands on... and just
  131.    think about the title of this archive series... no fragments...
  132.  
  133.    all files on this cd are .ZIP packed to get the most of the free space on
  134.    the CD and to get as much stuff on it as possible.
  135.  
  136.    obviously  some stuff was  packed on so many other archives before but as
  137.    said, i wanted  to get  possibly all  in -one- archive. this may help the
  138.    active falcon lovers to complete their collection with just one CD.
  139.    furthermore this archive contains a few rarities that were never released
  140.    before, including  some ultra  rare alpha  and beta versions that already
  141.    disappeared short after their release again.

  143.    furthermore you will  find some programs  to depack the stuff, lists with
  144.    descriptions for -all- included items as well as covers for jewel cd case
  145.    to print them out by yourself.

  156.    as this  archive contains  over 11oo files  you may  know that  it  isnœt
  157.    possible to check any program if it runs and how it runs. the most should
  158.    do, but esp. since  i didnœt have  a falcon system  up and running atm. i
  159.    donœt know  if really all  files will do so, esp. since many were leeched
  160.    and re-packed to have all in .ZIP format.

  162.    one very well known bug is the corrupted epidemic demo by eko. one module
  163.    is corrupted and makes the demo  bomb after short time. we found the same
  164.    module on the pc version of this demo but  didnœt succeded in  converting
  165.    it to make it run properly on the falcon version of the demo. if you can
  166.    help on this, please get in touch with me!

  168.    please inform  us about  possibly not  running programs  or wrong written
  169.    hardware reqs. we  possibly will do  a major update  or a  fixed remix of
  170.    this archive  within some time  if the number  of buggie files is far too
  171.    big.

  184.    ok, doing the finishing touches on  this archive i  checked  out that one
  185.    cd isnœt enough to save any piece of falcon software  done so  far. there
  186.    is still some stuff around that has to be  archived but atm. i donœt know
  187.    what to do with it. the time will show... maybe we will release an add on
  188.    or so if possible...
