  1. Thank you for choosing Photo Show 3D.

  3. Since there is an extensive online help that you may access from the
  4. configuration dialog, this file contains only the information needed to
  5. get you started.
  6.  
  7. You use Program Manager to install Photo Show 3D.  From the menu, select
  8. "File" and then "Run".  Next you type "x:PS3DINST" replacing x with the
  9. drive the floppy is in (usually A).  If you have downloaded PS3D from a
  10. BBS or an online service such as Compuserve it will probably be on your
  11. hard drive so you would then also include the name of the directory it
  12. is in.

  14. If there are any problems, try running PS3DINST a second time just in
  15. case the target directory was entered incorrectly.  If there is still a
  16. problem, just make sure the files PS3D*.SCR, PS3D*.HLP, CTL3DV2.DLL and
  17. WIFX.DLL, are located in the Windows directory and follow the 
  18. instructions in the next paragraph to select PS3D as the active screen 
  19. saver.

  21. After it's installed you must run Windows and use the Control Panel to
  22. select and configure Photo Show 3D.  To do this you must first run the
  23. Control Panel.  Usually it's in the Main group.  Then from the Control
  24. Panel you must run Desktop.  In the Desktop setup dialog you first
  25. select Photo Show 3D as the current screen saver and then click on the
  26. Setup button to bring up the Photo Show 3D Configuration Dialog. Last
  27. but not least, click on the Help button and you're on your way!

  29. The files PS3DINST.*, *.DOC, *.SDI and *.DIZ are no longer needed after
  30. the installation is complete and may be deleted.  The only files that
  31. are actually REQUIRED to run Photo Show 3D are PS3D*.SCR, PS3D*.HLP,
  32. CTL3DV2.DLL and WIFX.DLL, but please keep the *.TXT files also so that 
  33. you may register PS3D or order more images to use with PS3D or your other
  34. favorite programs.

  36. If you should receive an error message stating that CTL3D or CTL3DV2 has 
  37. been installed incorrectly it only means that there is more than one copy 
  38. of the file CTL3DV2.DLL on your system.  All you have to do to correct 
  39. the problem is to delete all but one copy.  If there is a copy in the 
  40. \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ directory, that is the one you should keep.  It should
  41. be safe for you to delete all other copies.  If there is not a copy in 
  42. that directory there should be one in the \WINDOWS\ directory.

  44. CAUTION: CTL3D.DLL and CTL3DV2.DLL should not be considered copies of the
  45.          same file.  If you have both of these files on your system you 
  46.          should be careful to keep one copy of each.
