IMPORTING GRAPHICS
To Import a Graphic to the database either:-
(1) Press F2
(2) Click on the RECORD menu item, then on the NEW RECORD item from the
drop-down sub-menu.
(3) Click on the FIRST ICON on the Icon Bar.
(4) Click on the RECORD TITLE box. (the box with the burgundy border)
You can give your graphic a title of up to 21 letters, numbers, one or two
words, or a combination of letters, numbers and words. You may give the file
a title BEFORE or AFTER importing the graphic.
Click on the IMPORT button at the base of the screen and a dialogue box will
appear for you to select the type of Graphic you wish to import. (BMP, ICO
DIB or WMF) After selecting the type of graphic file clicko on the SELECT
button.
An OPEN dialogue box will appear which will allow you to choose a graphics
file from any drive or directory. When selecting a graphic file on disk by
clicking on a graphics file name, a thumbnail view of the graphic will appear.
After selecting the graphic you wish to import into the database, either
double click the FILE NAME or click on the OK button to load the graphic.
After importing your chosen graphic, it is then necessary to save the record
to the database by either:-
(1) Pressing the F3 key
(2) Clicking on the SECOND icon in the Icon Bar
(3) Selecting the RECORD menu item, then the SAVE RECORD sub-menu item.
The record will be saved to the database with your GRAPHICS TITLE added to the
INDEX box in alphabetical order.
When this INDEX box is full, a scroll bar will appear on the right side of the
record box to allow you to scroll through your records.
You can enter over 1500 records using 21 characters for each record title.
You can enter over 4000 records using only 8 characters for each record title.
The INDEX box will hold 32,000 characters before it is full to capacity.
DELETING GRAPHICS FILES ON DISK
Click on the IMPORT button at the base of the screen to open the IMPORT dialogue
box. Select a graphics type (ie BMP) and click on OK. When the dialogue box
appears, a DELETE button will be evident within the dialogue box. To delete a
graphic file, click on the file in the FILE box. When the thumbnail graphic
appears click on the delete button to delete the file from disk.
