- MatHTML version 1.00.0055 was released early Thursday morning, August 1, 1996.
-
- First and foremost, please allow me to apologize for the severe lateness with
- which this version of MatHTML is being released. Not much code additions have been
- made, but it has taken some time to make bug fixes and code enhancements. However,
- that is not the primary reason for the delay.
-
- I am a student at Texas A&M University, but during summer months, I am not in class.
- Therefore, my web account had been deactivated in a way that prevented me from
- offering a new version or returning registration information. The problem has been
- solved, and I assure you all that any and all correspondance in the future will be
- handled in a prompt and courteous manner. Again, I truly apologize for these troubles.
-
- As for news to report for this new release, there is little. The ActiveX features are
- the newest and should help to add exciting content to your web pages.
-
- The other news is that MatHTML now requires a registration fee. The fee is far from
- exorbatant at only US$10.00 and helps to keep this project alive. However, please
- email me with problems covering this registration fee. It can and may be waived or
- lowered, at my discretion, with good reason and intention. Previously registered users
- will need to re-register. The former codes will no longer work. The previous
- registration process was used to test the marketability of a product like MatHTML.
- I thank all of the formerly registered users and hope that they will continue to
- use MatHTML in the spirit of ShareWare.
-
- For more information about registration, or for any questions or comments, please feel
- free to contact me via postal or email, or visit the MatHTML Home Page.
-
- Thank you for using MatHTML and cooperating with the policies of registration. I hope
- to continue developing MatHTML in the future, and bringing other useful applications
- to the Internet.

- Attention Programmers and Software Companies:
-
- The Visual Basic 4.0 32-bit source code for MatHTML is for sale. I can no longer offer
- the extra time and effort required to properly support, maintain, and improve this
- application. Companies or individuals interested in furthering one of the best and most
- complete HTML text editors available should inquire and/or offer a sale price through
- email at mroberts@tamu.edu with the subject of "MatHTML SCS." Only serious and fair
- offers will be considered. Please mind that more than one thousand hours over a period
- of six months have been poured into the development of over two megabytes of MatHTML
- code. Also note that while the source code is only sparsely documented, it is written
- using common naming and style conventions and is quite easy to read and follow.
