I spent the beginning of today devising this simple, but functional Newsletter system. Now I can write a newsletter and send it to ya'all without too much thought. The subscription is now automated too. Last time I'd have to manually add the addresses to the list and when I'd go for days without checking my mail there were people who'd continually send me subscription emails :). That's all behind me now!

Hey, but the newsletter system isn't the only new thing! I got around to putting a whole Software section under Neil's C++ Stuff. Follow the URL below:
The software section is all about compilers right now. Later on I'll probably add descriptions of good text editors for coding (TextPad anyone?). You'll find overviews of the compilers, instructions on how to obtain and install them, and additional links. Although it's not across the board, I'm also working on putting step by step instructions for doing relatively standard things on each compiler: how to build (compile and link) a single file, how to link with seperate modules, etc. The compilers are broken down by operating system, so you won't have to look at all the garbage on platforms you're not using (aren't I a nice one).

On a final software note, a lot of the stuff listed there is free. If you know of development software that I didn't list and it's free, please tell me. I'm always interested in trying out free software ... aren't we all?

Hey, I'm also working on a C++ Beginner's Guide! Sure it's still in draft stage and you probably won't get much out of it, but it's going! I plan on making this a full-blown online book. Once it's completed to the point where I feel satisfied, you should be able to rely on it like you would any other text book. This one will be teaching beginners of programming the basics of languages, then C++, then standard C++, then advanced topics. The finished version will be available online in HTML, in PDF format for offline viewing or printing, and hopefully even a nice book. I look forward to any bitching or comments you have about any material that's currently up there.

It's good for me because they're a form of competition; I'm forced to make my shieza better to snag their traffic :). It's good for you because ... well, it's more resources!
