The River is in the southern part of the state, on the Virginia border. Bluestone Lake and the town of Bluefield (on Highway 77) are nearby.

POINTS OF INTEREST
This scenic river preserves relatively unspoiled land in southwest West Virginia and contains natural and historic features of the Appalachian plateau. In its eleven miles, the lower Bluestone River offers excellent warm water fishing, hiking, boating, and scenery. Pipestone and Bluestone State Parks and Bluestone Hunting and Fishing Area are located along this segment of the river.
