  7. DIRECTIONS
  8. The Park is in Morristown in the north central part of the state. Morristown is reached by US 202 or by NJ 24. In Morristown, southbound on I-287, take Exit 32 for Washington's Headquarters and the Museum. Use Exit 26B for the Jockey Hollow Area. Northbound on I-287, use Exit 32A for the headquarters and museum. Use the N. Maple Avenue/Route 202 Exit for the Jockey Hollow Area. Follow the signs.

  10. WHEN TO VISIT
  11. Open year round. Peak visitor month is August. Winters are cold and snowy, so Park may be closed intermittently. Summers are hot and humid.

  13. POINTS OF INTEREST
  14. Morristown was quarters for the Continental Army during two critical Winters--January 1777 and 1779-80. The Park includes the Ford Mansion, Jockey Hollow, and Fort Nonsense.

  17. Visitor Center; museum/exhibits; NPS guided tours; self-guiding tours/trails; hiking; cross-country ski trail.

  19. GENERAL INFORMATION
  20. Maps are available at the Visitor Center of the extensive trail system in Jockey Hollow. Within 30 to forty miles there are six state Parks or forests with camping facilities. Food and supplies are available in Morristown, Bernardsville, and Mendham. Overnight accommodations are available about five miles north of Morristown. The Edison National Historic Site and Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge are nearby.
