The Park is located in the southeast corner of the state, adjacent to Tennessee and Virginia. The Visitor Center is 1/4 mile south of Middlesboro on Highway 25E.

Open year round. Peak visitor month is July. Winters are cold and snowy, Summers are hot.
POINTS OF INTEREST
This mountain pass on the Wilderness Road, explored by Daniel Boone in 1775, developed into a main artery of the great trans-Allegheny migration for settlement of "the Old West" and an important military objective in the Civil War.
